Going out drinking tomorrow....

Right, I gave up drinking in March and lost about 10 lbs. since.  I'm going out tomorrow, and I've got the itch to have some drinks.  It's my first time out with my new roommates, and I wanna loosen up and have a good time.  I usually eat 1600 cals on a sedentary day.  I also plan on going to the gym tomorrow, and according to the machines monitors and cc, I burn about 635 cals.  I'm so scared to gain weight from drinking again, so I was thinking I'd eat my normal calories (1600) and then drink maybe 4 or 5 drinks (most likely singles of vodka or bacardi mixed with diet coke).  Does this sound like a good plan?

Just consider that if you haven't drank since March, but were drinking fairly regularly before that, you won't have the same tolerance level. Having mostly quit drinking  (I have 2-3 drinks per MONTH), I find a couple of drinks is plenty to get me buzzed. Awesome because it's cheaper! :)
lol, that's what I'm hoping for (I'm sooo broke). 
I say go for it.  Rum at 61 cals/oz with diet coke at zero.  4 drinks = 244 or 5 at 305cals. 

1600 cals food
- 635 gym
= 965
+ 305 (5 drinks)
= 1270

I think you still need to eat another 330 to even be at 1600 cals for the day.  Personally I very rarely drink anymore, but if I were going to have the drinks and have a good time, I would use the extra cals for a slice of bread and some gatorade before bed so you don't feel like crapolla in the a.m.
When I go to a bar, which is rarely, I order tonic water with a slice of lemon or lime.  It looks like you are drinking, but you get to sit back and watch everyone else get plastered.
and no hangover in the morning.
my advice is to pace yourself slowly.  your tolerance might be much lower than you expect (which definitely has its benefits).  have a glass of water between each drink...and yes, make sure you get a good meal in your stomach before going out.  have fun!
