Hi everyone, thanks for the article dhm1983. I just came back from my yearly checkup at the Doctors. I have been drinking 3 litres of water on my program. He told me to drink only 2 litres. I weigh 166 pounds and I'm 5'5" tall. You can drink to much water and it can affect your electrolytes (spelling). Water is very important, just don't overdo it.

I saw something today about a lady dying from drinking 2 gallons of water for some radio show. She literally died of "water intoxication". There was a competition to see who could drink the most water without going to the bathroom. All of the radio hosts and some others were fired. That's so scary. Two gallons is a bit crazy though.
That could be the one I heard about too. I had heard it was a contest to see who could drink the most and it killed her. It is scary. So, we need to drink water but like everything else in moderation. I know drinking the water has helped me since November 2006 when I started watching what I put in my mouth.

As part of the fat flush diet i am drinking 2 32 oz bottles of water with cranberry juice a day (28 oz water, 4 oz unsweetened cranberry juice). It tastes really bad a first, but the cranberry actually encourages me to drink more since it is a flavor. Doing this in combination with one glass of warm water with lemon juice every morning I have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of cellulite in my thighs. Very important to buy unsweetened Cranberry juice as many "Cocktails" are made with other juice or have added suger in them.
OOH, that sounds so good! Not the warm water with lemon juice, but the cranberry thing. I might try that! Thanks!
My experience with frequent urination from drinking tons more water . . .
at first, the frequent urination was a real nuisance -- it was what you feel like when your kidneys/bladder is going to burst, then getting to the toilet and only going a little.
Especially during the night, it was really annoying.
Now, I still urinate frequently, about every 2 hours, but it is a substantial amount.
I think my kidneys and bladder needed to be cleaned out . . .
It's really a sad state of affairs when we are so accustomed to being able to go so long without going to the bathroom, that to do what is "normal" for a healthy body seems such a nuisance.
I posted on another thread that if you are losing weight, fat has a high percentage of water -- and if you are losing fat, then the water in that fat has to be flushed out.

Great post. I drink a lot of water but is encouraging to read articles like that. I tagged it.
Well I decided today to try and increase my water intake and see what happens. I found a calculator on the internet that, based on my weight, living conditions, exercise etc., stated how much water I needed to drink a day. Would you believe I am suppose to drink 15 - 8 ounce glasses of water. Ohhhhh! Myyyyyyy! I am going to start peeing and never stop. My body will turn into a sponge or massive jelly roll, and where do I put the coffee. I can't do away with my coffee. nonononono! OK, 15 x 8 =120 + 5 x 6 =150 ounces of liquid. I am going to feel pregnant again, at my age. Up every hour at night for a peepee. Have you ever played with your child after they drank a big glass of water or milk and their tummies gurgled, that will be me walking down the street. No wonder you loose more weight, there is no room for food.
I wrote this in my journal two days ago and since then I have been drinking more water (lots more). I am not up to 15 glasses yet and I am not sure I can drink that much but it seems to be helping,. J-P made a comment when he was holding my hand and stated how soft my skin was and asked had I been using a hand cream. The answer was no I haven't and I think it is the extra water I am putting in my body. My skin doesn't sem to be as dry as it usually is this time of year. So drink up everyone, there are benifits other than lounging in the toilet with a good book.

Allib- you can find unsweetend cranberry juice at Raley's grocery in their "natural food section" or try a health food store if you don't have a Raley's... I tried the Penta brand water that the Biggest Loser contestants were drinking on the show and it really tastes great- I found that at Vitaminshoppe- and then was surprised that Raley's now carries it too in their natural food selection. If anyone has trouble drinking water I highly recommend this water- I let my co-worker try it and she was delited too...
Has anyone gained weight when they first started to increase their intake of water? If so... How long did it take to start loosing again?
I hate water. I have never drank it. I am drinking Kool-Aid, non sugar type. Is this as good? I have been trying to find out. I was trying to figure out how to start a forum on Kool-Aid VS water, when I found this forum. I am trying to drink a lot of it. My problem is I always sip my drinks. thanks for any information.
