Driving trip coming up - need some advice.
Hey everyone. Quickly, stats:
Female, 275 lbs, 6' tall, lightly-active lifestyle (I'm a vet tech).
Tomorrow we're driving to my fiance's mother's house in Arkansas, about 15 hours of driving. I'm used to having a lightly-active lifestyle. Clearly, I'll be burning fewer calories during the trip, but can anyone help me figure out how much fewer? Should I worry about it at all, given that my eating goal is equal to my BMR every day (about 2050 calories)? Any suggestions for good exercises to do at rest-stops - maybe a quick jog around the complex?
I already have plans for food to bring to snack on in the car - high fiber stuff, veggies, etc, but suggestions for that kind of thing would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
If you're not driving, you could always take along a set of lightweight dumbells and sit in the passenger seat and do bicep curls, triceps, etc. Low weight + high reps will at least get the blood circulating and help maintain muscle tone.
Also, if you do a Google search for 'exercise while sitting,' you'll find a lot of articles for how to do leg and ab work while seated at a desk or what have you. You could probably adapt that to a car as well.
But mostly, enjoy the ride and the chance to spend some time with your honey and get a change of scenery.
Is 2050 your BMR for your current weight or for your healthy/goal weight? From what i've read, you can eat under your BMR for your current weight but not your healthy/goal weight, especially if there is a big difference in the 2.
Have fun on your trip!
