I have really dry skin on my face, especially on my forehead which is also the place I think is aging most quickly. Can someone recommend a really good facial plan or a really good moisturizer so I can try to combat this ...?? Thanks.

No ideas on a moisturizer, but a question.

Do you eat a lot of eggs? I know that my mom gets really dry and flaky skin especially on her forehead if she eats a lot of eggs, they say it is an allergy. I recently noticed that I am the same way so I have been staying away from eggs, and if I do eat eggs I make sure it is only like once a week and only two eggs that one day.

I never even gave it a thought until this year that I might have the same allergy, but I have noticed a huge change now that I am aware and I take steps to avoid eggs.

i don't believe in spending a ton of money at the cosmetics counter, so this is what i've started doing.  i use moisturizer twice a day, right out of the shower and after cleansing at night.  i don't use any fancy cleanser, just a mild soap (Pears).  my favourite moisturizer is loreal hydrafresh, but it's water-based and very light.  you might need something a little more zoftig.  and i've started exfoliating with sugar at night, after i wash my face and before moisturizing.  there are lots of methods for doing this: sugar and lemon juice, raw sugar and cleanser, blah blah blah.  i just keep a little dish of ordinary granulated sugar by the sink and dip my damp fingers right in.  i like it better than other exfoliants, because it dissolves (instead of ending up in my nose).  plus, yum!
If you have sensitive skin (like I do) Eucerine is THE BEST. The Plus is a bit greasy, so I put it on before I go to bed. They also have a eucerine face lotion with sunscreen in it. It's wonderful! A bit pricey, but one bottle will last me about four to six months.

I agree with Pg, you don't need to get fancy.  Oil of Olay is a really good moisturizer you can used twice a day, plus it has sunscreen, which is a must to prevent premature aging signs.

As for cleansing, I'm a big fan of Neutrogena, but for really dry skin I would recommend a simple, all natural, olive oil soap.

Aveeno cleansers & moisturizers are very gentle and reasonably priced. So is Cetaphil (it's actually recommended for eczema sufferers).

Think about taking fish oil capsules. They will do wonders for your skin, especially flaky skin.
Cetaphil is great. It lasts a LONG time, too. I've had my bottle for over a year, and it was another friend's before that!
I use oil of olay morning and evening.  For any dry flaky patches which I occasionally get I apply vitamin E oil directly and that clears it up nicely.

I use SURGEON'S SKIN - it's a natural 'stick' of beeswax - just love it!

I'm 65; have very good skin (so my doctor says) - used Noxema to wash with all my life (since 14 years of age, so that's 51 years).

I use SURGEON'S SKIN on my fore-head; around my eyes - mouth, neck - cuticles, and feet.  Because it's in stick form, it's easy to use.

I think you can check it out at www.jamarkabs.com and also at www.QVC.com since they also sell a box of 6 - it lasts forever, and my 85-year old mother uses it - loves it too (she has great skin for her age).  Diane
