dry skin
since the weather has gone colder my hands are terribly dry and cracked its really painful ive tryed to get in with my doctor but that isnt till the end of this next week. does anyone else have this problem ? any advice
I assume you've tried regular hand lotion and it hasn't helped?
I'd suggest using Vaseline at night on your hands, and then putting cotton gloves on overnight. You can buy cotton gloves at some drugstores.

thanks i have some of that i will try that thanks xxx
I recently discovered Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Cream with aloe. I use it all over (arms, legs, feet, hands), and I noticed a difference immediately. Might sound silly, but the tops of my toes were so dry and rough, but not anymore.
Just a suggestion. Good luck whatever you choose to use.
neutrogina hand cream works amazing for me. much better than most normal hand creams, at least.
I have huge problems with this, like someone else suggested at nights cake your hands in something like neutrogena norweigian swiss cream and then pop some cotton gloves on over it.
I dont like that cream for during the day though because its to greasy so during the day I use Eurcerin its really brilliant, you can get it in boots, its expensive but it helps alot.
Ah, me too. Have you ever been to a shop called 'Lush'? They do amazing natural hand creams which help. Or you try E45 cream, which works too!
thanks everyone i have lots of things to try , we have a lush in town another excuse to shop :)
Have you tried Eucerin or Gloves in a Bottle? They both work wonders for me...I am the same way in the winter time.
Neutrogena Norwegian formula hand cream. I use it on my lips too. It is amazing.
thanks x
cocoa butter works pretty well too. especially if you put it on at night with gloves
Lotion I used vanicream that a dermatolgist suggested. Also enough healthy fats will help with dry skin. In general many people do get more dry in the winter.
My daughter suffers with eczema and her hands get incredibly sore , dry and cracked in the winter. She uses aqueous cream on her hands with gloves at night when it's really bad or as a hand cream when it's not so bad, it really seems to help her.
You can get aqueous cream at any chemists and some supermarkets and it's super cheap for a huge pot. ![]()
BTW cod liver oil capsuals are good for dry skin conditions.

i think your right the fats could be a big factor something i need to work on thanks xx
OIl of Olay - apply liberally to your hands throughout the day. Totally greaselsss, and you'll literally be able to feel it getting sucked up into your skin over about a minute- feels great! It's not just for old ladies like me, nor is it only for use on your face. I swear by it.
