So I've set a goal to lose 3 pant sizes in the next 3 months I want to go from a size 18/20 to a size 12/14 (is that 3 pant sizes...?)
But...I don't know HOW to do it. I eat right. It's the exercise portion that's got me stumpped. What should I do to acheive my goal...?
If you've never exercised before I would really talk to a fitness professional, maybe get a gym membership. If you can't afford a gym membership there's all kinds of resources (like this Web site) where you can learn about how to start exercising.
I would recommend that you start out light. Try to go out for a walk everyday and push yourself a little during your walks to go a little further each time (walk for as long as you can, as fast as you can). Once you start going further and faster you can up it to a slow jog, etc.
Exercise does really depend on exactly what you want to do, i.e. tone up, build muscle, etc.
For losing weight running and swimming are always recommended as the best with some light strength training (weight lifting).
Good luck!
I went from waist size 40" to 32" in three months. Well less than three months actually. By focusing on my diet 20% fat, 40% protein, 30% carbs. Then half way through switching protein and carb percentages.
As for exercise I've been doing Double P90X. However, you can start off less intense. Two hours a day would sort you out. Fourty-five minutes of cardio in the morning while staying in your heart zone as much as possible. Followed by an hour of light weight training in the evening. 12-15 reps for lean, 8-10 for bulk. So pick a smaller weight and do 12-15 reps.
Rotate your days. Monday - weights, Tuesday - cardio, etc. Take a rest on Sunday. Your body needs time to heal. As for actual routines or 'movements' with the weights. That's for you to decide. Just pick a program or come up with your own.
The most important part is getting in your heart rate zone and staying there. Sweat and soreness are your friends. I suggest buying a heart rate monitor (don't get a cheap one - spend the dough), a food scale ($20) and a set of light weight dumbbells 5 or 10 lbs ($15).
It's a lot of work but totally worth it. I'm currently down 35 lbs and 8" off my waist. Still have a ton of working out to do and maybe 15 more pounds to loose.

I totally agree with this, especially the part about switching workouts day-to day. My fiancee and I like to run for about 30-45 minutes then weight lift on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and on Tuesdays and Thursdays we swim laps for about a half hour then just mess around/goof off in the leisure section for awhile which actually burns calories as well as being fun! We both like to lift weights and swim and the running is something we had to force ourselves to do. We started this when school started (August) and now instead of feeling like we ahve had to MAKE ourselves do it, it is becoming much more of a routine. Instead thinking "ARE we going to work out today" it is becoming more and more "WHEN am I going to work out today"
I used to try so many things and it would only last me week or two (the worst was probably the "Kelloggs" diet-I can only eat so much cereal). But then we started to change our goal to more of a lifestyle AND to be looking better on our wedding day!
