Due in June/July 2010 support thread

So, it's really early many of you may not even know your expecting yet. I only found out this past Friday. I took one of those pregnancy test, that's supposed to tell you 5 days before your missed period. I took two, both positive. I plan on taking another in a few days...I'm late with my period though, so I must be preggers. We only tried for about a month, so it happened quite fast. I called my OB and she said I was about 4 weeks, going by my last cycle. I have my first OB appt and ultrasound Oct 27. This is my second child. My first, Ava, turned 3 yesterday.

So far I feel great. A little tired at night but nothing too terrible yet. I'm still working out and eating the same. I hope I don't gain too too much. I'm 31 so it might be a little tough to lose it this time around.  I've cut my caffeine down to 1 or 2 coke zeros a day. More on the one side. Each can has about 35 mg of caffeine in it, and from what I understand if you stay under 150 mg then you're fine. I really only drink them to keep my headaches at bay. I do get migraines once in a while and the caffeine helps with those.

Oh yeah, my ob said my due date was June 07, 2010. I'll have a better idea after my ultrasound.

I'd love to hear from anyone else that's expecting and due around June or July, although the July-ers prob aren't even expecting yet!

Due Dates:

merylwhite1 - June 1

amy4302 - June 4

mandyts - June 16

izjohnston - mid to late June

rspefley - July 4

Congratulations!

Until more people start finding out that they're pregnant, I'm sure you'd be welcomed with open arms in the Babies Due April-May 2010 thread! Early June is close to May, right?!

Thank you! Very true...I was reading that thread today, trying to get up to speed with everyone.

I'll join you in starting this thread!  I'm sure more will join soon, but people with those due dates are just now finding out they are pregnant ;)  I am due June 10 (based on my cycle.)  I will find out more at my first ultrasound on Wednesday.  I can't wait!  So far I am just feeling a bit of nausea and I am more tired.  I find that I don't want to eat much at once.  I am just nibbling throughout the day.

Hey mandyts! wow someone replied! :) I thought I was alone here :)

Congratulations!! Your due just a few days after me. I don't go to the doctor till the 27, but they're going to do an ultrasound then so I can't wait. Good luck at your appt on Wednesday.

I go through spells with my eating. Sometimes I don't want much and have to make myself eat but other days I'm eating every couple of hours. Lot's of nausea and huggin the toilet.  That's picked up in the last week or so. Really tired as well.

Good Luck!!

I'm sure more will reply as time goes by!

That's pretty cool that our due dates are so close.  I am excited/nervous about my ultrasound on Wednesday.  I can't wait to know that everything is fine.  I haven't been sleeping well, even though I am exhausted. All i think about all day is sleep, but when I lay my head down, I can't.  I think I am just worried.  This is my first pregancy and I am terrified of a miscarriage.

Luckily, I haven't had to deal with the toilet hugging yet.  I just feel like I need to puke, but never do.  I normally have to really watch my carbs, but right now I don't feel like eating meat much.  Sometimes the only thing I feel like eating is noodles ;)  I am trying to keep a balanced diet and make sure I am eating enough for the baby, but not gaining too much weight.  I tend to gain in my stomach anyway so even if I"m not "showing" soon I wll probably have a belly bulge from lack of exercise and eating carbs!

Once you see your little bean on the us you'll relax and feel much better. It's so neat to actually see it. Makes it feel real. I went to sleep last night at 9:30 b/c I was so tired. I did get up 4 times to pee though and once b/c my 3 year old was calling me. All she wanted was me to cover her back up...Thank God. Sometimes she'll want to get into bed with us, and then no one's getting any sleep except her!

I hear ya on eating carbs. I just coked down 4 saltine crackers b/c my stomach wasn't happy. If I eat or drink anything sweet sometimes it doesn't settle too well with me. I had a diet dr. pepper right b4 feeling nauseous. The crackers helped though.

I've been scared to exercise too much, at least not until my second trimester. I was walking about 2 miles in the beginning but decided to stop. I started having some light bleeding and that always freaks me out. I haven't gained anything yet just sometimes my belly pokes out, but then the next day it doesn't. Maybe I'm just bloated who knows! It's going to be tough getting through the Holidays without gaining too much. I'm sure I'll gain more this time around, but I hope not to go over 25 pounds. That sounds like a ton!!!

hope you have a good afternoon and night! Get some sleep!!!

Yes, I will feel SO much better tomorrow!  I don't know how you do it with a 3 year old and being so tired!  I don't have any children yet, and I can barely keep up with all I have to do.

I have been scared too about exercising much until I talk to the Dr.  I usually work out everyday, but now I cut it down to a 30 minute walk and occassionally doing a prenatal workout video.  I used to run or do the elliptical trainer almost everyday and then do weights a few days a week.  Oh well, I know that it is worth it to be safe!!

How much did you gain with your first?  I have heard that 25-35 pounds is the usual suggestion.  It does seem like a lot, but my sister gained 35 and has already lost it all in 3-4 months.

Let me know how your appt goes today, I'll be thinking about you.

It is tiring but I really don't think about it. I've been only cleaning 1 day a week now and doing laundry throughout the week so I don't have so much to do in one day. My husband has been helping out a lot more as well, so that's helping too. I guess it hits me about 9 every night, some nights I don't even want to shower!!

Our exercise routine sounds a lot alike. I used to do my ellipitical everyday or run and then weight train. Now I'm not doing a thing. I feel like i've already gained 10 pounds, but the scale isn't showing anything.

With my first I gained 15 pounds. I was sick the entire 1st trimester though. Morning sickness, afternoon sickness, night sickness, you get the idea. It was bad. I didn't really show till I was 5 months either. My belly is already poking out now. It was bad last night, I looked like I was 3 months already! I'll be breaking out the maternity clothes soon. I hope to gain around 25 this time. I'm so short that will be a ton on me, but like you said it's all worth it.

It didn't take me long to lose it last time, like your sister by 3 months it was gone. So, don't worry, sounds like you have good jeans and your active now. That really makes a difference. I walked a lot in my second and third trimester last time as well.

Good luck at the doctor today!

Amy- i just sent you a pm.  Let me know if it didn't go through.  My ultrasound was good! I got to see a heartbeat!

mandy-No not yet.

Aww I'm glad it went well. That's great

*pokes nose in*

Hello ladies! Just saying hello. My due date is around the 1st of June - it was May until I went to an early scan and got put back a week, very annoying lol.

I am 8 weeks 3 days today and so far have gained 3lbs. I'm expecting to gain around 5 this first trimester. Although I have bad morning sickness the toilet-hugging is more than counteracted by all the eating I'm doing to quell the queasiness. I am usually a very healthy eater, but since becoming pregnant I have also become best friends with fatty carbs and sugary carbs. I'm hoping my preference for healthier options comes back soon!

This is a first baby for my boyfriend and I. A big surprise as I was on the pill and didn't have any slip-ups with forgetting to take it. I told my friend who also had a surprise baby and she just shrugged and said babies decide when they want to come, not us. I guess for me at least that's true!

Hope you're having a great day. Smile

Hey merylwhite I was lurking around on the april-may board and saw you over there.

I'll be 8 weeks on Monday. Congratulations! I haven't had too many run-ins with the toliet-hugging until last night. I left work around 3 and I was sick the rest of the afternoon and throughout the night. I think I'm going to have to eat more often to keep it at bay. I too have been eating tons of carbs, fatty and sugar ones too. This morning on my way in I had to stop and get a plain biscuit. :(

The scale hasn't said that I've gained any weight but I feel bigger. My clothes are getting tighter and my boobs are getting massive! lol This is my second. I'm already showing. I'm not in my maternity clothes yet, but not far from it. I'm as big now as I was 4 months last time. It maybe bloating but my tummy is still poking out!

I think babies decide when they want to come as well. I know a few who got pregnant on the pill.

Hope you feel better soon.

Oh yeah...

I was going to ask yall, are you using coco butter on your tummies yet??

I started using it while we were trying! I used it during my whole pregnancy last time and no stretch marks! We'll see if I'm that lucky this time.

Welcome merylwhite!  I just got pushed back by a week too!  I thought I was 7 weeks on Thursday but my ultrasound showed that I was only 6.  My due date is June 17.  I too have been carb crazy!  That is really the only thing i feel like eating sometimes.  I have hardly been eating any meat at all.  I try to eat fruits and veggies as much as a I can (when I feel up to it.)  I am really hoping the nausea doesn't get worse for me. I am still so early on!

I agree that they come when it is time!  We have been trying since April so for us it was the opposite.  Worth the wait!

I haven't started using cocoa butter yet, but I will soon!  I am hoping for NO stretch marks ;)

I'm using Bio Oil, but with a little skepticism. I do think that if you are going to get stretch marks you'll get them regardless of what oils and creams you rub on. But like everyone else I am hoping that's not me! :)

Hope you ladies had a good weekend. Mine was pretty good. Watched a lot of football with friends. One of them is pregnant with twins!! She's only 12 weeks along and is already miserable. Poor thing. We find out tomorrow how many is in my tummy! God I hope only one. Twins don't run in my family or his, so I think we're safe. It's just a scary thought, to me anyway!!

Mandy - I'm sooo not loving meat right now. I can't even look at it. That just started about a week ago. YUCK. Cooking it just grosses me out as well. I hope it goes away soon for my husband and daughters sake.

Amy I feel for you.  In my 2nd preg.  I was like this with chicken.  I was around 8 weeks along preparing dinner and next thing I know got so grossed out by the chicken that I got sick.  No more chicken at all in the house for the rest of my pregnancy.  We ate a lot of pork then.  I couldnt eat chicken for my 3rd pregnancy but I could prepare it.

As soon as I delivered my aversion to chicken was gone almost immediatley.  I truely think its our bodies  from way back  preventing us from eating foods that could hurt the baby.

spuckine1-yes chicken is a big no-no right now! we're having cheese ravioli's with sauce tonight!

Oh that sounds so good! I love chicken right now but hate red meat and seafood, both of which I usually like. Pasta with any kind of sauce is going down a treat right now. Smile

It's my boyfriend's birthday today so we're going out for dinner. I only wish I could have a few drinks!

I started out eating soup like crazy!  I made so many homemade soups and decided to freeze them for when I didn't feel like cooking.  Now I can't even imagine eating soup.  So funny how quickly things change!  I normally NEVER eat pasta, but lately that's what I have been eating like crazy!

How are you guys with fatigue?  I am mid-6 weeks along and all of the sudden I can't even stand up while brushing my teeth!  I am normally constantly on the go, so this is hard for me.

Amy- Let us know how your appointment goes today!!!
