Due in June/July 2010 support thread
So, it's really early many of you may not even know your expecting yet. I only found out this past Friday. I took one of those pregnancy test, that's supposed to tell you 5 days before your missed period. I took two, both positive. I plan on taking another in a few days...I'm late with my period though, so I must be preggers. We only tried for about a month, so it happened quite fast. I called my OB and she said I was about 4 weeks, going by my last cycle. I have my first OB appt and ultrasound Oct 27. This is my second child. My first, Ava, turned 3 yesterday.
So far I feel great. A little tired at night but nothing too terrible yet. I'm still working out and eating the same. I hope I don't gain too too much. I'm 31 so it might be a little tough to lose it this time around. I've cut my caffeine down to 1 or 2 coke zeros a day. More on the one side. Each can has about 35 mg of caffeine in it, and from what I understand if you stay under 150 mg then you're fine. I really only drink them to keep my headaches at bay. I do get migraines once in a while and the caffeine helps with those.
Oh yeah, my ob said my due date was June 07, 2010. I'll have a better idea after my ultrasound.
I'd love to hear from anyone else that's expecting and due around June or July, although the July-ers prob aren't even expecting yet!
Due Dates:
merylwhite1 - June 1
amy4302 - June 4
mandyts - June 16
izjohnston - mid to late June
rspefley - July 4
Just got back from my OB, everything looks fine with the baby. I was relived. Only one in there too! whew! Got to hear the hb it was 156. The baby is mesuring 8 weeks 4 days. Gives me a due date of June 4. So we'll see when it wants to show up. :)
I do go back for another u/s in 3 weeks. My doc just wants to check on the baby, I had a few problems with my last and before that I had a miscarriage. I don't mind at all, that means I get to see it again soon! She did write me a Rx for zofran (sp??). To help with the sickness. It's really been bad lately. I can't even eat at night, meat or no meat. I tried to eat a little toast last night that went down okay, but for some reason when I laid down to sleep, I had to run to the br, I almost didn't make it. Thats the worst it's been so far. I hate feeling like that. I'm just glad it's not happening at work. Hopefully it will ease up for us all soon!
mandy--I've been getting winded lately, and that's not like me at all. I work up stairs so I have to climb the stairs a lot, and thats tiring me out quickly. I get really tired around 8 every night. I just want to crash. I think it was worse with my first though. I do remember even calling into work with her, just so I could sleep in.
meryl-have fun tonight. Enjoy it. I know how you feel about missing out on the drinks. I was around some friends a week or so ago and they were drinking. I wanted one so bad, and I don't drink much at all. I think I just wanted it more b/c I couldn't have it! :)
Yall have a good afternoon and night!
I'm so glad that everything went well!! Keep us posted with your visits!! I had another today. Baby measured 7 weeks 1 day (due June 16 now).
I'm glad they gave you a Rx. Hopefully that will help you! I have been SO hungry and tired this week. I hope the zofran helps you and you can keep some food down!
I have been so exhausted that I can't even go for a walk, much less do a workout. I am hoping that goes away b/c I am starting to feel super flabby!
Meryl-I just try a little juice with sparkling water in it. At least you feel like you have a "special" drink ;)
Mandyts - that drink sounds like a pretty good idea! I am also feeling exhausted all the time, but I've heard by the second trimester you get a second wind and start to feel full of energy again. I hope so.
I have my scan tomorrow. I've already had one early scan at 6 weeks so I should be 9+4 tomorrow (they asked me to come back in a month's time). I'm very nervous that something will have gone wrong.
Wish me luck! ![]()
I'm sure everything will be fine. I know I am constantly nervous, so I think that is normal. Let us know how it turns out!
I am so ready for my second wind!
I second the second wind coming back ![]()
Hope yall have a Happy Halloween!
Just got back from my scan this morning and all is well! Very happy and excited today.
The baby is measuring 9 weeks + 5 days which is just what he/she should be measuring. Saw the heartbeat and the little limbs waving and head nodding... just lovely :)
Just curious, are the scans you ladies have had internal or external? I had an early scan at 6 weeks which was external, and they were able to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. However my scan today (with a new doctor) was internal... he told me it was too early to have an external scan which I was suprised about, having already had a successful external scan a few weeks earlier.
That said I think the internal scan probably gives better pictures of the bubba while it's still small.
Aww, I can't wait to see my peanut moving about! I'm so glad everything is going just as it should.
My first scan was at 8 weeks and it was internal. I have one at 12 and I have no idea if it will be external or internal. I think by then it should be external though.
Hope everyone is feeling good. My nausea is starting to fade. Really hope it stays away. I've been eating Halloween candy like crazy though. I know it's not good for me or the baby, but it taste so good. :( It needs to go!
I am so ready to see something that looks like like a baby on my next scan ;) I am excited that you got to see some movement!
I have had two scans (6 and 7 weeks) and they were both internal. From what I hear, your first couple are usually internal. I was glad that some friends had prepared me b/c I never knew that they did internal scans until recently. That would have been a shock if they hadn't told me!!!
*waves* Hello Ladies :) My name is Becky and I found out a couple weeks ago that I am pregnant and tentativly due July 4th :) Would it be ok if I joined you ladies?
Hello and welcome Becky! I was wondering if we were going to have any new memebers soon, it's about time our little group expanded!
Is this your first baby?
I am due June 1st with my first so am 11 weeks tomorrow. Very excited but still a little nervous. The nausea is definitely starting to go away now, yay.
Amy - I am eating sweets like crazy too and we don't even celebrate Halloween here (I live in Malaysia and it's a majority Muslim nation) so I have no excuse except that I am craving sweets like mad. Oh dear...!
Hello Ladies! I'm in week 8 and due mid-late June with my second.
I feel like I'm eating way more than I did last time. As of today I've gained 7 lbs!! ...mostly from three days of undereating. I undereat, I gain 1.5 - 3 lbs overnight!!! I'm really concerned about keeping my weight steady since I gained 64 lbs with my son (half of it from hypertension water retention). I't taken me two years to loose it all plus more. I'm starting out 15 lbs less than I started with my son.
I'm still walking about 2 miles a day, but at a slower pace. I need the movement and fresh air from my desk. The fresh air really helps the nausea which is kicking up in the last week. Today I'm feeling better which I hope shows I'm getting a grip on drinking enough, sleeping enough and eating enough... but I'm still a little anxious b/c I had a miscarriage this summer and I find increasing nausea strangely reassuring that everything is still okay.
I want to start my pregnancy yoga DVD but am pretty bushed by the end the day (Plus I haven't done it since the day I found out I was loosing the last one). From last Friday night 7:30 till 4pm last Saturday I slept 17 hours!! I'd been pushing myself pretty hard at home. I'm letting go of some things and letting my hubby do more.
Becky, my son is a "firecracker baby", 7-4-7!!
Izjohnston, welcome to our little group!
I have been amazed at my appetite - this is my first pregnancy and I am about 11 weeks, due 1st June. Even during the morning sickness, which is easing off now, I was always starving and would eat loads of carbs and sweets. Right now I am eating cheese and ham + salad sandwiches every day... Still eating loads but at least the nutrition has improved!
I have a question for everyone. Are you going to find out what sex your baby is before the birth? I know that my partner and I can't wait to find out - we are definitely too impatient to wait until the birth to see what our little one will be!
We let my son keep his gender a surprise till birth. Both my hubby & I thought we'd have the boy first before we even started trying. My gut feeling while pregnant was that it would be a boy. But we stil only called him an 'it' until bith. It took about a week to correct ourselves once he was born, from "it' to 'him'. I liked it. I didn't start building firm ideas/expectations of who my son was (influenced by gender) until I'd already met him and could get a more full experience of who he was as a person not just a boy.
My sister loved knowing she was having a girl. They even called the baby by its name before birth. She still bought a lot of gender neutral infant clothes and decorations since they were planning to have more than 1.
We also held off settling on a name until we met our son. W took a list of top choices to the hospital. Once we met him, we changed our mind about his middle name. Since I miscarried once already, I'm not sure I'd want to cal the baby by name until delivered healthy.
Welcome izjohnston and rspefley! Our group is growing...yay!
Becky my husband is a fourth of July baby. That's awesome.
izjohnston-I'm pregnant with my second as well and I feel like i'm eating more than I did with my first. I'm trying to start drinking more water, it was making me sick at first. And, stop eating so much junk. I hope to start walking again soon. I know what you mean about the nausea reassuring you. Hopefully you'll get your energy back soon.
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Today I'm felling much better... which makes me a little nervous. Last night, I helped make dinner. Tonight, I'll probably be able to make it all myself. fingers crossed.
AMY-How did your husband find his birthday parties as a child/teen? Were a lot of his friends out of town? Every 5-years we have a family reunion at a lakeo n Michigan with my Dad's family, originally set b/c my grandmother was a firecracker baby too. This year my son loved the water sports, but don't know how long that will last.
izjohnston - we live about 45 mins from the beach, so he said they were usually at the beach for his birthday or went there. He's one of 7 children so I don't think it was a big party. Just mostly family. Now that he's older I try to make him his favorite cake or pick up one for him and we try to always get to the beach as well. I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I wish I could say it gets easier. I too had one. Mine was about a year before my 3 year old was born. I've been worrying a lot lately. My nausea and sickness has just all of a sudden stopped. I'm almost 11 weeks so i'm not sure if it's normal or not. I go back to the doctor on the 24th and I can't wait.
Meryl - we are definitely going to find out the sex asap! I can't wait to know. I want to start shopping especially if it's a boy since all my stuff now is for a girl.
Amy, I'm glad you're feeling better today and I'm confident it is just a sign of your first trimester settling down. I've heard that hormone levels peak at 10-weeks. that would give you a week of adjusting, plus, are you still on the anti-nausea medication?
In good news, I got a bit peaky with the rush to work this morning. I didn't have a good enough breakfast. I'm telling myself I must be managing things better: less stress, more water, constantly eating (Hunger wakes me at night more than having to go to the bathroom). I do need to eat more protein.
Thanks, I'm sure your right. No, I'm not taking any of the medicine anymore. Just my vitamins. I need to get my eating in line as well. Sunday morning at mass I felt like I was going to pass out. I got really hot and things were going black. I had a couple of waffles beforehand but I guess it wasn't enough. OMG the peeing at night is driving me insane. I'm getting up 4 times a night to go, already. I stop drinking right after dinner and have maybe only 4 ozs before going to bed.
