Yeah, so i'm "new"....kind of.
I joined a bit ago and now I'm just attempting to get active on the boards.
Welpppp, I'm here because I want to lose this stubborn weight and I want to live a healthy lifestyle. I have some ugly diseases in my family, and I wish to avoide those that are avoidable!
Anyway, so I guess here's my story...
I'm almost 18 and have struggled with my weight since I was young. I have always been over weight and well nothing was ever done about it. I never really learned healthy eating and exercise habits so I'm teaching myself now. I was involved with sports and activities throughout the years but I was always overweight despite my activity level. So, this makes things discouraging. Now, I watch what I eat and I try to be as healthy as I can. I have lost about 10 lbs since June just eating healthy. I want to lose about another 60 so that I am in a healthy range, and so that I can feel better about myself. I'm young, and I don't want this self-concious thought process I have hinder my ability to go out and have fun. I don't want to look back on life years down the road and regret not doing things.
Hah, sorry this is so long. I'm fairly verbose, anyway. Thanks for reading, I'll see ya on the boards!

You've been lurking this whole time and still don't have a profile??? Shame. Just kidding, do it when you feel comfortable.
You know we're all (mostly :)) here to help and support each other -- so if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask them.
Since you've been here since Jun, you've probably explored the tools -- but make sure you check out the library, also -- has some great stuff in there.
Welcome
I know, it's horrible :O
lol, thanks for the welcome!

I hear you entirely. My mother suffered from an ED, and I was her outlet - everything she wouldn't allow herself to eat she fed to me. My pediatrician put me on a diet when I was 18 months old! I have found this site very helpful and hope you do too!
Good luck!
I got my husband to start on CC because he was diagnosed as diabetic, and to be normal weight he has over 100lbs to lose. since he was convinced he was one of those who just had to look at food to gain weight , he had his doubts about CC. I got a good electronic scale to weigh his food. In 9 weeks he has lost 15 lb. Best weight loss he has ever had without exercising. So he is now happy with CC.I really think having the scales made the difference- If he has been good,he knows he can fit in a treat like ice cream or granola bar at the end of the day. So he does not feel deprived, and NO guilt about rebellious cheat days. If you are really serious about losing weight and being able to judge"proper" food (of proper proportions), a electronic food scale with a Zero function could be something you parents might be wiling to give as an early Christmas present.
