Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee
So, I'm not sure if any of you live in NYC but if you do and you frequent Dunkin Donuts and like their iced coffee... you may have noticed that the posted calorie information is a little disturbing. 70 calories for a small? I checked on here and on their website and they both say the calorie count should be 15. I am not sure why the in store menu boards have much higher calorie information posted. The hot coffee remains the same, at 5 calories for a small. I'm pretty sure they aren't factoring milk, cream, or sugar into the iced coffee calorie count... I'm pretty confused. I love DD coffee, so, if you've noticed this too... help?
I think they are factoring milk, and whole milk in fact. I asked an employee and that's what he told me. As long as it's just coffee with ice, you should still be at the lower calorie count.
Actually, I think they are factoring in the cream - according to the website, DD small iced coffee with cream = 70 cals. Sugar brings it up to 120.
The thing is, why would they factor it in for iced but not for hot? And then not say anything about it? I think maybe it's sweetened or something, like Starbucks does.
I think if you order just "iced coffee" and don't specify anything they assume cream and sugar. I've once ordered it black with no sugar and still got it with cream and sugar. Dumb, but it's just their standard.
yes that's true! i ordered iced coffee once and got cream & sugar too. i mean, it was delicious - but their default is not weight conducive whatsoever haha
