What is your Favorite Apple?

Mine is Fuji because it's hard and sweet to me.
Grapples are also Fuji apples infused with Grape.  I like them occasionally.  We live by an Apple Farm.  That have amazing apples.
I will pay them a visit.

A special Hello goes out to all the Apple Challengers.

My favorite apples are Honey Crisp, but they are seasonal and hard to find. My second favorite apples are red delicious.  To the extent possible, we buy only organic produce ... and always try to use a special produce wash before consuming our fresh fruits and veggies.

My March 1 Apple Report

  • one apple at lunch
  • one apple at dinner

APPLE FACTS ....

  • Apple's insoluble fiber works like bran, latching on to LDL cholesterol in the digestive tract and removing it from the body, while apple's soluble fiber pectin reduces the amount of LDL cholesterol produced in the liver.
  • A study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine confirms that eating high fiber foods, such as apples, helps prevent heart disease
  • Pectin grabs toxins like the heavy metals lead and mercury, and ushers them out of the body.
  • A type of pigment in apples that helps provide their color, flavonoids have been extensively researched and found to help prevent heart disease.
  • Apples have long been touted as an excellent source of flavonoids that act as antioxidants, moping up oxygen free radicals that can damage DNA.
  • It appears that the phenols in the skin of certain apples may provide a hefty dose of UV-B protection, according to a study published in the Journal of Experimental Botany. Researchers evaluated both Granny Smith and Braeburn apples, with Braeburns being the clear winner in terms of their ability to accumulate UV-B protective quercitin glycosides in their sun-exposed skin. Sun-kissed Braeburns were resistant to high doses of UV-B radiation (up to 97kJ m-2). Next time you plan to spend time in the sun yourself, start your day with a Braeburn apple or bring one or two along for lunch and snacks.

I don't have one favorite apple per say, and I don't think I've tried nearly enough varieties to have an opinion on it.  However I know that I prefer them to be crisp and bitter, I can't stand soft apples, or ones that are overly sweet.

Our favorite here is Fuji, too.  They're sweet and crisp, never sour and never bland.

I'm in.  I have high cholesterol (genetically) so I hope apples can help.  :-)  I'll go eat my March 1st apple now.  Fuji, non-organic.  I'll wash it, I guess.

I'm in ;)

My favourite apple is Braeburn as they are crisp and juicy

March 1st and I've had two granny smith apples, and I think I'm all done for the day.  They were wonderful, by the way.

One Granny smith down 30 more to go
I'm in. Braeburns are my favorite, with Fuji second. Not to crazy about Delicious, though.
I've had 2 apples today 1 with my lunch and the other as a evening snack

I don't have a favorite apple but I like mine crisp not soft.  Usually I have fuji, gala or granny smith but only because these are the main kinds my grocery carries other than red/gold delicious which I'm not as fond of.

Today I had 1 Gala apple.  It was delicious - nice and crisp and very juicy.

My favourite apple is golden delicious with gala as a close second. I like tangy, apples, with a punch of sweetness, yummm.

Today I had 1 container (100g) - 51 calories of unsweetened apple sauce.

Count me in, I eat almost an apple a day as it is.  I used to sell pampered chef, so I use a wedger and toss them in a disposible bowl and out the door I go with a simple healthy snack.  The only problem I have, is keeping them in the house, cuz my son likes them almost as much as I do.  I know that is a good thing, but not when I have to visit the store 3 times a week.  Anyway, my favorite is Fiji, they are crisp, juicy, sweet and not soft like a red delicous.  Have a wonderful Sunday, that is when I will start my first day with the apple.  Cool

eating my apple

crunchy, juicy, ruby red

you need ... choc'late sauce!!!
