... Ok Im just gonna start off by already apologizing anyone i might offend..

Does anyone els think there is something wrong with this sudden wave of "emo"ness... I mean ok, I can understand style.. even some of the crazy ones.. all about expressing yourself! these days..  But when guys of the age 14-19 start stuffing them self into girl pants as a style. I mean come on call it what you want, but isnt that what a cross-dresser or a drag-queen is? I'll even admit that i have a pair of jeans that might make your average dude would might say " think those are a little tight?"  But I have nothing that comes even close to what these guys are stuffing them self into... I almost consider this like morally incorrect... is anyone els bothered by this fad?

is goth different from vampire?

Goth that was how I dressed as a teen. Now I still dress like that but very subdued and not all the time. A few months we went and visited my ex step mom. I was wearing a tight black AC/DC shirt, black jeans, my chain wallet and my earrings. My ex step sister was like "OMG your goth?" Me and my ex step mom looked at each other like she was crazy. I have dressed in straight black with piercings and chain wallet for at least 11 years. Where the heck has she been (she is 16).

Nomo yes in my opinion goth and vampire is different. I know someone saving up right now to get fangs done. Plus she has a kick butt vamp bite tat.

I wish my husband could post.  He's an old skate punk from the 80s and really loathes the emo-movement.    It's that whiney, disaffected emo-uniform that so many of them wear.   I don't care what they wear but I can't tolerate that attitude.

We've seen some young skaters start wearing skinny jeans and it breaks my husband's heart a little bit.   They're still good kids, though, and that makes all the difference.

Just watch last week's South Park to answer that question.

Per se.

*falls over laughing*

All kids think their thing is the new thing and that it's so "underground" and all.  They're kids.  That's what they do.  Laughing

If I saw a 35-year-old man walking around in girls' jeans and trying to look all "emo", then I would raise an eyebrow.  But teenagers and college kids have been doing this sort of thing forever.

Scene kids listen to techo, and emo kids listen to emo.

Hardly.

I had my first experience with the e-mo this fall. Yes we live on the east coast and are just seeing this trend here. Anyway, I was at the local high school football game with my family and friends. One of my friends pointed out these two e-mo girls making out. I mean they should have gotten a room, they were sucking face, biting each others nipples etc. I couldn't believe how they wanted to attract this type of attention. The clothes were one thing but to act the way the entire group was acting. It was like one big orge, they would kiss one another in groups. This was the first game of the season and it took until the last game for one of the high school kids to point out to us that it was a BOY she was kissing and making out with all season long ( well one of them anyway ) . YUCK I'm a NO MO, and it's just because of that group.

It's most definitely not a new trend.

The guys I know who wears girls jeans say they're comfortable. Here in South Korea, Korean guys wear pants tighter than any American guy I've ever seen. I think they look good and it most be comfortable.

meh - kids are kids.  i was around for leg warmers, punk (the first time), and grunge (yes, i wore stanfields long johns under my cut offs.  gotta problem with that?).

my only real concern is that self injury by the minority gets masked and minimized by the fashion choices of a group.  but i don't blame that on the trend or the kids who follow it.

and that's what we girls said when we were wearing men's jeans.  i wore 32" men's levis when i had a 27" waist.  don't forget your belt!

my 18yr old son can wear a girls size 7 jeans, and he does. I don't like the skinny look on him though.

And and I just wanted to add that the fad is really taking off. My brother just got a pair of "rude fit" boy jeans at hot topic. No more shopping in the girls section for him!

Ha ha  .... rude fit.

I have to assume they're called as such because only teenagers wear them, and teenagers are (in general) rude.  Laughing

Can someone explain the difference between "goth" and "emo"?

Google images can probably do an easier job of explaining.

goth

emo

Ok since you only sent pics. Is it just a "look" or "style" I thought it was supposed to be more like a lifestyle, or certain beliefs?

Ahahaaha.  I watched that episode too. South Park can be so profound.

Alibsam, What kind of fashion do they have in South Korea?

I know in Japan they have the Gyaru-oh thing. And what is a J-girl? haha...

HAHA this is what I was thinking (Destroy the vampires lair to destroy the vampires themselves..)

i find the whole "i'm going to show my individuality by dressing like all these other kids" thing kinda funny.

girl pants on boys, i will never understand.

the hair fascinates me though, i must admit. googling "scene hair" can keep me entertained for quite some time!

Every generation thinks they invented style and sex.
