Early pregnancy weight "issues"
So after trying to conceive for several months, my husband and I finally found out we were expecting baby #2. I am absolutely overjoyed! However, since it was the fourth of July, and we've had family in town, AND the excitment of being pregnant, I have gained almost 5 pounds in just over a week and a half!! yikes!
What I am asking is, do you think its safe for me to try and take off a couple of those pounds? I know drastic dieting is not wise during pregnancy (I am barely pregnant just 5 1/2 weeks). But what about during the first trimester- just eating healthier working out a little to try and take off the weight I gained so quickly?

Dieting during pregnancy, no matter how far along you are, is not recommended.
If you are truly concerned about the 5lbs gained, then you should discuss it with your doctor before attempting to lose any weight.
More than likely, the 5lbs is more water weight or undigested food. I wouldn't worry about it. There will be some weeks where you gain may be more than you like but then there will be other weeks that you won't gain or it won't be by much, so your weight will level off.
Just eat healthy and plenty of calories and concentrate on having a healthy pregnancy more than the number on the scale.
Congrats by the way!
