easy party foods
throwing a party for my 4 year old this sunday. it will be mostly adults (he's not in school yet, and there is a lack of young kids in my neighborhood) so i am looking for really quick and easy party foods....
i am making hummus and have veggies, some mozzarella cheese with some tomatoes and basil, chips, pretzels and dips, and will have a thing of baked ziti. i feel like i need more stuff. so if anyone has any suggestions, and they don't necessarily need to be low cal foods, just stuff that's real easy!!! thanks!!!
That already sounds like a great spread, but how about some dessert, like maybe cupcakes? Also, you could always throw together a quick pasta salad, rice salad, potato salad (I know those are more summer foods, but I love them any time of year). You could also toast your own pita chips for the hummus.

Pretty easy (and delicious, and healthy) artichoke dip. Basically chop or blend up canned artichoke hearts with yogurt and tofu and some other flavors. YUM.
My family's party fave:
Take 8 oz of cream cheese let get to room temp, and beat in one jar of marshmallow fluff (cream). Refrigerate
Makes an AWESOME fruit dip, especially for strawberries (which here in Louisiana at least, are in season - we're having for my daughters Bday this weekend!)
awesome....
i forgot about the pasta salad and i think that i will make up a green salad too...and i have strawberries so i'll try my hand at the dip!
now i just have to go out and buy MORE stuff!!! i feel like i have been living at the stores lately! at least tonight i won't have to drag my son along, poor little guy is tired of the stores too!
happy birthday luvnhorses daughter!!!
How about getting a few of those cute sandwich shape cutters and making up some turkey and cheese, or PB&J, etc sandwiches? They have ones in the shape of dinosaurs, stars, etc. I know you said it will be mostly adults, but, hey, it's a kid's birthday party! I'm 28, and I would be super excited to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich shaped like a dinosaur :)
Also, my go-to party dip is a spinach artichoke dip made with either whipped or low-fat cream cheese, frozen spinach, chopped artichokes, pepper and some garlic salt. After you microwave the frozen spinach, dump the hot spinach in a bowl with the cream cheese to soften it and then mix in all the other ingredients. Serve with baked tortilla chips, veggies, etc.
easiest party snack ever
1 package of cream cheese or neufchatel cheese whichever you prefer
put on a plate and cover with a salsa (I like mild Pace).
Serve with Ritz crackers or whatever cracker you like
