Easy sauce to make, and can be thrown in a crock pot if one wishes. If you aren't vegan or vegetarian you can throw in some meat or some cheese.
| 1 | tbs olive oil |
| 1 | green pepper |
| 2 | small onions |
| 3 | cloves garlic |
| 2 | cans mushrooms |
| 3 | cups tomato puree |
| 3 | cups whole peeled tomatos |
- Saute vegetables in olive oil.
- Add whole tomatos {I use one can}, and break up tomatos wth spoon.
- Add can of tomato puree stir and reduce heat to low.
- add seasonings to suit taste. I prefer oregano, marjoram, thyme, parsley and basil. Somtimes I add a little bit of fennel. Fresh herbs would add great flavor.
- Allow to simmer over low heat, or can simmer in crock pot. the longer it simmers the better.
- goes great over almost any pasta
