The Easy Way to Stop Smoking-Free from slavery 5 years now.

Hello everyone, I'm new, just found this group and I share this info with anyone ready to hear it.  I used to smoke 20-40 a day depending on what was happening in my life at the time.  I never bothered with the patch or nicaret because anyone that I knew that had tried it failed at some point, however I knew a handfull of people who read this book: THE EASY WAY TO STOP SMOKING by ALLEN CARR and had quit for good with NO WITHDRAWALS  NO CRAVINGS.  So I tried it and it worked.

Tust me if I had bad cravings I never would have been able to quit.  Mind you I had to read the book twice for it to work, but that's a small price if you ask me.

How does it work?  Well you read the book, and the whole time he tells you to keep smoking, dont cut down and dont use anything to help you cut down.......dont let that scare you, when you are ready you will know and you'll never want another smoke again.  YOU CAN DO IT!

Good luck

My brother just gave me the book.  I haven't started reading it yet, but I am so tired of smoking but afraid to quit.  I am afraid of the unknown.  I have smoked for years and don't really know what to do if I don't smoke.  I know that sounds weird, but that is my fear.  I will let you know when I start the book.

This book is brilliant! The funny thing is we try so hard to convince ourselves to smoke we forget the real dangers and inhibators of smoking. Allen Car's book really forces you to be accountable for your actions and your ADDICTION. I found myself and at one point slowing my reading pace when reading the book, because I was scared to quit. How sick is that? I knew i would be successful and i wanted to deter it as long as could. Finally, I read the last page. Smoked my last cig. And jan 9/2009 I celebrated my 6 months of cig sobriety. I smoked for 11 years and I am only 27 years old. One of my more prouder moments.

Good luck and love to all the people who realize that smoking has controlled you for tooooooo long.

Read the book and quit cold turkey!! Replace smoking for the gym and physical activity. Its amazing how life changing it can be.

i have tried all ways to give up... patches, will power, gums,  even laser treatment on my inner ear!!  forget them all, unless you want to do it the hard way, and Drag out(sorry for the pun) your addiction for aslong as possible..  The way that worked for me...Allen Carrs easyway!!  Its a revelation, its not a gimmick or a trick of the mind, it opens your mind to why you are smoking these disgusting filthy things....we all know they kill, destroy healthy bodys, anti-social, cost alot of money... why do we still smoke....We are DRUG ADDICTS....and the drug is nicotine, the book is great.. it was recommended by a good friend (who i envied cos he had stopped smoking)  he said its good to smoke while reading it... great!!   Read it....if you cant answer the questions at the end..HONESTLY then re-read and continue to smoke... thats it!!!  it took me two times to read it... about 4 weeks in total. you will actually enjoy the proccess of stopping!! you will soon be preaching to smokers about the book!!!  i smoked about 20-30 a day, and a large cannabis habit also, for about 23 of my 38 yrs on this planet.. i stopped it all in a day and actually enjoyed it... just think about that....Now get yourself a copy and start reading your way back to health!!

I am so glad I clicked onto this area of calorie count.  I am 49 years old and began smoking when I was around 31!  Divorce will do that to you.  My mother smoked, my sisters smoked and most of my friends did, so it wasn't foreign to me...anyway I have tried to quit (seriously quit) about two or three times.  I did do it cold turkey (with God's help) for about 6 months.  I thought of myself as a social smoker but realized not only is it a behavioral habit but also a crutch.  I began smoking again after six months the night my mother died (unexpectedly)!  I had gained 25 pounds after I quit smoking and I felt like crap!  I decided to quit again and that lasted two months- until my husband had a heart problem and had to have open heart surgey- the smokes came out again!- Then three months later my father passed away!  Well needless to say I kept on smoking.  It was comfort to me.  Now I am on this web site- determined to lose weight and get myself healthy again (after a long bout of depression over the loss of my parents).  I have lost around 20 pounds - but 20 more to go!!!!!!! (the depression added another 20 to my frame).  NOW the point of all this is I am so fearful that if I quit now I will gain the weight back!  I know- stupid but- that is the reality.  I need someone to give me the reassurance that I will not gain weight if I quit again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I will buy the book...but honestly...I am skeptical....Any encouraging words from fellow stress smokers???

Hurray for the EASY METHOD! Me and my husband quit, thanks to Allen Carr's legacy, 5 weeks and 3 days ago! It has been wonderful and amazing, and easy! I wish every smoker in this world would REALLY read the book and take it to heart!
