Since joining CC in September I have lost 20 lbs and still have 55lbs to go. My husband has been gone for most of the summer and he will be back in 2 weeks, so I need an emotional crutch to stay motivated when he's back, because it's so easy to slack off when you're having fun!

I'm highly motivated and really want to do this, so I'm looking for any like minded losers with a penchant for gab, great recipes and a sense of humor to chat with.

I'm an avid reader and even with my daughter and other activities I usually average 1-3 books per week.

I thought it would be fun to weigh in on weight loss and books that we're reading. I am currently re-reading John Connolly's The White Road, scary with amazing characters and a touch of supernatural.

Mini Goal 15 lbs by Nov 21

That's sound perfect I love read and I love the idea "eat books instead of cookies" at least the books don't have calories but they have a lot of culture and knowledge rigth Now I'm reading the book "ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and that it's a wondelful book and 3 days ago I finished reading the book "the divine comedy" by Dante another master piece. Also we can propose a title of any book and later we can comment it. Like a reading club don't you think?

My stats:

Female 5'2

SW: 185

CW: 121.5

My goal: 115lbs before December (I been stuck in 121.5 for almost 5 weeks now and I don't know if I can  reach my goal I really hope so)

Wow! You lost a lot of weight! Congrats. I read some Dante in college, and must confess I haven't read any of Marquez's books, even though they've been recomended to me a million times. Somehow, even though I actually own some, his, Haruki Murakami and Khaled Hosseini are the authors I can't seem to bring myself to read. I don't know why. I do read literature, even though 65% of my books are crime/mysteries, 25% literature, 5% other and 5% chick-lit.

I like reading almost anything, though, just don't go proposing any Milton, ok? ;0

Maybe when we get a couple more people joining us, it could really be a book club/weigh in! That'd be fun! I changed the title to "Eat books, not cookies" I actually wanted to write that, it's amazing what your brain does on no sleep!

Ok, so I usually do my weigh-ins on Wed. Is this your first plateau? I haven't had one yet, ok, I just started last month, but I'm dreading it!

OMG I love the title! Cool

I've just got books from the library but finding them hard to finish even though I like books beacause of the TV. I love both so much.

Anyway, I'm reading The Blind Miller by Catherine Cookson, my favourite author. I'm sorry I never heard of Dante, but I'll look it up. Embarassed I read pretty much anything that's good. Although I love crime, I love Cookson.

So, SW was 12stone or so, then I went up to 13stone and now I'm back where I started. Well I've put on 2/3 lbs in the last couple of months. I'm 5'3 and 19 years old. So I'm clinically obese. BMI 30.5.

I'm finding it hard to get motivated. Cry

Hi surina! I just looked up Catherine Cookson on wiki, what an interested lady. I've never read her books either, but heard of her. I have a BMI of 30.5 too. I've never quite figured out what stones are in relation to pounds or kilos....

Oh! sorry. I have one of those scales that measures in kg, lbs, and stones! I figured its wise to invest in a scale! Laughing lol

Anyway, at 12stone 3 its 78kg and 171.7 lbs. Pretty cool huh? lol

I want to be 55kg/ 120lbs. Its a long way but I'm prepared for it  to drag over 1/2 years.

Take care
