Most days of the week, i stay up pretty late, until around 12 AM or 1 AM -ish.

and since it's past 12 AM - another new day - i decide to have some breakfast.... and im also hungry.  i knw ur body doesn't know if it's a new day or not --- as in ur body doesn't care about that --- but i like to think of it that way. ! Tongue out

 

so what i want to ask is..

 

 

Undecided is it unhealthy for me to have breakfast during that time?

 

 

and yes, ill go to bed like... an hour or a bit less than an hr after eating.

i don't stuff myself up until i cant breathe. i just simply have "breakfast." Smile

no binging or feeling guilty. !!

&& also, i do stay within my calorie limits... Smile

 

what do you guys say about this?

Well it's 3am here and I'm still awake lol, I had some oatmeal like an hour or so ago but I just calculate it in the same day since *my* day finishes at 2 or 3 am, not midnight...so to me it's a snack before bed, not breakfast :)

I have breakfast sometimes at 1 am, too.  It helps me go to sleep.  No problems so far!  Nancy
As long as you stay within your within your limit, any time is fine.  I hope you're getting enough sleep!

~ Frown frankly..i haven't been able to get enough sleep.. these days im doing much HORRIBLE when it comes downto managing my time!!!! i relaly need to get back on track... but naturally.. im a procrastinator..... heh..

i'm an insomniac and get up for the day at 3:30-4:30 am, so naturally i eat breakfast when i get up.

i actually like it better than eating at like 7 or 8. although i do miss sleep. plus, by 11:30 when i have lunch at school i'm STARVING, but i hate snacks. so ye.

I eat dinner at 7:30 p.m. and typically go to sleep around 2am. Around 12:30 I am hungry (stomach growly hungry) so I'll eat a large apple or luna bar. I count calories for the next day since my CC meter and log is set to the following day already. I count it as a snack because when I wake up in the morning (9:30 am) I am definitely hungry again. 

I have no idea if it is unhealthy for me, but I do know that if I don't eat I'll lose sleep from stomach grumblies keeping me awake.

~ what time do you go to bed erica? yeah these days my sleeping pattern has been totally devastastated i only get like.... 3-4 hours of sleep!!! and that's if im lucky. it's got to do like.. 99% with my eating habits i guess...

~ been hearing about Luna Bars.... what are they? like protein bars? there are SO many different types of protein bars these days..... so whats so good about this one?

~ hm... i don't think ive ever not been able to fall asleep because of hungerrr... but ive woken up from sleep because i was hungry lol... and i was like..subconsciously going to the fridge, taking out this protein bar munching on it, then going instantly back to bed!!! i didn't realize this until the next day when i went to the fridge in the morning to look for that protein bar and uhh... wasn't there...?

If you're within your calorie limit, I wouldn't worry.  The main reasons that most people don't eat to late are:

Adjusting eating habits - if you eat later at night, sometimes it's hard to stop.

Potential calorie burn - some people believe that not eating within 2 hours of going to sleep causes your body to burn a few more calories while you're asleep (I think it's like 50 per day)

Weighing - if you eat before going to bed, and you tend to weigh yourself in the morning you have the unprocessed food weight in your digestive system which weighs more than when it's been broken down and the byproducts eliminated.

~ i used to seriously have this theory that eating during night time will make you fat INGRAINED in me for such a long time... im really glad that i found out that it's not true... LOL!!!!!! Tongue out

~ for some time, i don't need to be worried about weighing myself because i have a phobia .. a fear of weighing myself .. haven't weighed myself for quite some time now... im like... deadly terrifieed!!

Well, I'd say personally that thats all right if you are within your calorie range. I usually go to bed around 2 AM :o and I have a snack around 11 or 12. But, I would reccomend that you eat at least 2 hours before you go to bed.
