How to eat breakfast when your never hungry in the morning?

Quote  |  Reply

Ok, every everything I've ever read about dieting, suggests eating breakfast is super important. I'm never hungry before 1 in the afternoon, and I'm up for work at 6:30. Does coffee count as breakfast?

Tips, ideas?

No coffee does not count as breakfast and I too wake up not feeling hungry which Is primarily due to me going to bed with a full tummy. So look at your eating patterns and maybe you'll find the answer. If you're eating too late you might wake up not hungry. I also find that once I start eating my appetite kind of catches up and I'm able to enjoy it.

So I'd say just start by eating a piece of fruit and drinking a cup of milk, if you don't like plain milk have chocolate or strawberry milk. Maybe a slice of toast and a cheese wedge. Anything at all but you need to eat something.

yea, most of my eating is done at night when I get home from work, so that might have something to do with it.  Thx.

There was another post very similar to this one just the other day.

I used to never eat breakfast,  and just like you,  wasn't really hungry until lunch time.   I started seeing a trainer to help lose this weight and he made it very clear that I must not skip breakfast.  Breakfast is very important for keeping your metabolism fired up to burn those calories.

Here is that other post.

start eating it and eventually your body will want it and be hungry in the morning, that's what happened to me.  I never used to eat it and now I HAVE to!

I don't eat breakfast, but if I did, I would have shake in the morning.

Throw oats, honey, skim-milk and a banana in the blender and there you go.

Usually in the morning I will have oatmeal - either lower sugar or weight control kind - once I started living on my own I never really ate breakfast but now I do

Just have a bowl of cereal. It takes like 2 minutes to eat and it wont make you stuffed or anything. Mini wheats are my favorite!

i haven't eaten breakfast for years until recently. i've just started to over the past week and a half or so, and i must say that i am now definitely hungry for it. this morning, i had early class and got up grabbed and apple, threw it in my bag and got a coffee. i had my coffe and around 9:30-10 i started getting hungry (woke up about 8:20). Unfortunately, i couln't eat my apple b/c the class was so quiet and i didn't want to be disruptive. i was starting to get a headache and my tummy was making alot of noises by 11:30 (class ended at 12). i basically ran home after to get my oatmeal and apple in me, and some more fruit. i learned my lesson. i plan on packing myself some softer fruits and some dry cereal from now on for breakfast so this doesn't happen anymore. it was seirously awful i couldn't even concentrate. this is coming from someone who last year did not eat a morself of food before 1-2 o'clock in the afternoon and functioned fine. so once you start, you'll probably get hungry. also, i agree with everyone who said you might be eating too much too late. breakfast is seirously great though, i think it really helps with energy and focus!

I'm never hungry until about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Just how my stomach works. I found that if I eat something when I first get up, I am more hungry earlier in the day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my coffee. Try checking the health food section of your store for vita muffins. I LIVE off of these things. They should be in the health food baking section. They're 100 calories each if you make 12 of them, but I can usually get about 17 out of one batch (so like 85 cals each?). They're kind of expensive $6. . .but they last ALL week 2 or 3 a day :) They're mostly fiber and they're GREAT for you. More vitimins and less calories than an apple. I make a batch in the beginning of the week, and have one with coffee at breakfast. And then I try to eat a piece of fruit too before lunch. Healthy, more simple than making eggs or something every morning, and great for on the go! Sometimes I have two. . .and if you get the chocolate one they're GREAT heated up for 15 seconds with a little I Can't Believe It's not Butter sprayed on them.

I'm not much for a big breakfast and have had to train myself to eat in the mornings. I have some yogurt around 7:30 when I get to work. About 9:00, I'll have a cereal bar and then about 10:30 I'll have a piece of fruit (apple, banana or something). Then it's lunch at 12:00 so I'm not eating a lot at once but spacing it out and I never feel hungry.  Laughing

I would try exercising if I were you. I wake up at 6am exercise and by 8-10am I have my breakfast. Usually around 10 if I exercise later like 8.
