You can eat chocolate on a diet?!?!?!
Ok so this is more of a happy vent than a question, but it is TTOM and I am craving chocolate like crazy!! Well, I love how this time I am not "dieting" but changing my lifestyle, because it means I can eat chocolate! Those little fat free pudding cups are great and the perfect size when I need them!
Everyone thinks of a diet as starvation mode with celery and lettuce only and an apple for dessert, but if I am craving chocolate, I am gonna have my dang chocolate and lose my weight too! woo hoo!
Does anyone else have any guilty pleasure foods that aren't so guilty anymore?
Another 'guilty' pleasure for me is nuts! I LOVE them but they're so high cal. I've switched from cashews and pistachio's to almonds. With almonds, I count out my portions and I am still satisfied!
Coleslaw is another. I love it, but its soo bad for you. I make it with vinegar, cabbage and non-fat mayo. LOW CAL and just as good as the real thing.
thats all I can think of now, but I know there's more.
yum i lovvee almonds too! it is crazy when i tell people i am trying to lose some weight and they see i am still happy! usually dieters are tired and depressed but there are so many healthy options i didn't even know about!
cook 1/2 cup of dry oatmeal 1 packet of fat free hot cocoa mix 1/4 of banana crush 4 almonds and sprinkle on top
its a large portion too... so you get to feel like youre totally indulging...the perfect treat under 200 cals... it taste AMAZING.
I don't think any food should be forbidden in order to lose weight. However, some should be relegated to 'very occasional treat' status. If you eat healthy, whole foods in modest portions 80 - 90% of the time then there's scope for not-so-healthy foods in small amounts.
ii eat chocolate every night :D well, almost every night... it depends how my day went LOL it's kind of a reward!
AND i lost 62 pounds since 9/4 :D
i know you shouldn't reward yourself with food, BUT hey... whatever works LOL and don't deprive yourself of the foods you love, OR else you will end up binging!!!
Also I love to dip a spoon in peanut butter (about .8 tbsp worth) and use it to eat 60 cal Chocolate jello pudding snacks. With each bite i get chocolate and little peanut butter. Tasts like a reeses cup!

YUMMY!! That sounds great.
- Chocolate. Any chocolate. Since starting recovery I've had chocolate fairly often, in moderation, but savouring and enjoying every mouthful!
- Ice cream. Formerly my binge-trigger. I have yet to attempt eating ice cream as a treat or dessert but when I do I will not beat myself up over it, and if I do over-indulge, I'll just move on instead of dwell.
- Baked goods (such as muffins, cakes, brownies, slices, scones, sweet bread etc). Also a former binge trigger. I actually had a chocolate and walnut brownie, and was satisfied with a small portion, that's all the encouoragement I need!
- Sugar candy. I love lollipops and don't mind indulging in one or two every now and then.
- Late night eating. If I'm hungry, I'll eat. No matter the time. (I'm working on this one, but it's getting there)

yes it does! wow. i think im going to have to try that for dessert tonight!
Everything - because I am pretty much a food-a-holic! As long as you have something in moderation, you can eat it. It is when you go overboard and consume A LOT more than the suggested serving size that things go downhill.
Really though... my weaknesses are: double chocolate chunk icecream, cheesesteaks, cheese fries, buffalo wings and PASTA!
Wine too... but I am lucky enough to be such a light weight now when it comes to alcohol that more than 1 drink, and I am pretty much flat on my butt. HAHAHA. So I guess, it is more of an indulgence that I am no longer able to have too much of, because if I do, I will be one sick little lady. ![]()
You are right though - this site is not to encourage dieting .... it is to encourage A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE! I just wish people would understand that. ![]()
Chocolate is my biggest weakness! I always crave it when I sit down to do my homework at night. Depending on how much I've eaten that day, I'll just try to trick my brain: oh, you can have some at seven-thirty. When it's seven-thirty, oh...you can have some after you get past page four of your paper. When I'm on page four, I'll be like, okay, just read one chapter of that book...
But I don't believe in depriving myself by any means. I have a little chocolate every day, and I've still been able to lose weight!

haha! yeah I have quite a few weaknesses similar to the cheescake and chocolate chunk ice cream...
I LOVE frozen custard, but it is SO bad for you! haha. I think I will try to eat frozen yogurt instead, like you said jstone, you really can't tell much of a difference.
Oh and since the pb on a spoon with chocolate pudding cup post, I have been having to exercise much self control to save it for later! It sounds amazing.
I like this post!
My weaknesses are nice chocolate truffles. If I'm good I'm allowed one in the evening as a treat.
I also love red wine, which I've learnt as long as I plan to drink is fine but unlike previously I'll limit myself. My alcohol intake has taken a nose dive since keeping track of what calories I have, but the key is definitly not saying I can't have it just at the weekend when I am usually more active.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
