I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and my doctor said, “ If it tastes good don't eat it.” What do I eat?

To treat type 2 diabetes, do a cardio-type exercise at least 30 minutes a day, and follow a balanced low calorie diet. For you, that would be1300 calories with roughly 160 grams of carbohydrate (50% of calories), 65 grams of protein (20%) and 43 grams of fat (30%). Choose high fiber carbohydrates, like whole grains and fresh vegetables, and eat more fish and less red meat. Space your meals evenly and log your food so that you actually lose weight. Visit a registered dietitian for nutritional counseling and diabetes teaching. (Most insurers cover it.) And after you cure yourself, tell your doctor how to do it.
