Do you eat different calorie amounts on different days?

I have been wondering about this for a while now. If say, you usually eat about 2,900 to maintain like I do, and then you have a day where you do a little less exercise and only technically "need" 2,700 or 2,600, would you still eat the 2,900? Or would you eat what you needed for that day? I have heard that it's fine to eat your "normal" amount even if you go a day where you do a little less since after getting used to intense exercise every day it is good to keep your calories consistant since your body needs them for muscle recovery.

It was just a thought. I typically do just eat the extra, since it wouldn't be a bad thing for me anyway.

For me, for the entire month of July, I would average 2700 calories a day; but on some days I ate more than that; I usually exercised every day, but there were days I did not exercise, but I still basically ate the same amount each day.  My weight basically stayed the same on average for the entire month.

So, my opinion is, that, yes, on occasion, even if you don't exercise a day here or there, you could still eat the same amount of calories.  Yes, we need to take a day off from exercise here or there.

i find it nearly impossible to eat the same amount every day. i find its better to zigzag calorie consumption anyways. i naturally just feel hungrier some days than others

I usually vary my calorie intake day by day... I have a GoWear Fit and tend to eat according to what my body is actually burning, which varies according to my activity.  It's normally around a certain range, but it still fluctuates, which I've heard it's good to vary calorie intake becuase it keeps your body guessing.

I am currently attempting to stop counting calories, so I'm pretty sure my intake varies from day to day. While I was counting it varied by a couple of hundred calories per day. I didn't change it according to my actual calorie needs but according to whether I was extra hungry or not.
