What do you eat for dinner that is low-cal?

Hi! I was wondering what you guys eat for dinner that is low-cal? By the last meal at night, you don't want to blow your good-eating day by eating junk or a high-cal food.

Besides frozen Lean Cuisine, etc, what do you serve for dinner that is low-cal? Thanks!

soup ...last night was black bean and chicken :D
HHmmmm, I love soup-------do you make your own or buy cans? My eating schedule is all out of whack now that's summer, so I think I could do that right now.

Here's the problem (anyone else with similiar issues and solutions, holla!) --> During the school year, I almost never eat breakfast or lunch (just a little lunch if anything) and then have a big supper. Since I am off right now, I have been working out, snacking sensibly/spreading small meals out through the day and keeping track of my calories and activity here, and finally I am not so starving at supper time. I guess my body is finally old enough to appreciate breafast, but my old school brain can;t seem to wrap around the idea of needing less at 6 PM because I am used to cooking for my boyfriend and that being my big meal of the day.

SO, do share any awesome soup recipes or other low fat supper ideas like awesome Ezra's Momma said ( :

I like to eat scrambled egg whites with some veggies and shredded cheese.  high protein, low fat, and low calories!

I was in a Japanese restaurant a year ago and was served a piece of grilled fresh halibut on top of shredded cabbage. The fish was excellent, and I think the cabbage had something to do with it. Since then I've been chopping a lot of cabbage to use as a bed for a variety of foods.
Chicken! We eat grilled chicken alot. We use differant low cal marinades to mix it up, we also eat turkey burgers, salads and lots of steamed veggies at every meal.
omlets-- I use one whole egg + 2-3 egg whites - veggies and lowfat cheese

I keep frozen cooked shrimp on hand - and heat up some with some frozen veggies - or frozen stir fry mixes and then just sprinkle with either terriayki sauce or parm. cheese.

Chicken veggie fajitas on lower cal tortillas

soup

pancakes -- I make them lower fat- and make a 'fruit sauce' to put on top with mashed strawberries and blueberries or bananas.
hey natesmomma---would you share your low cal marinades? I love grilling, but freak at the idea of using store baought marinades.

I use lemon and lime juice, balsamic vinegar.....always looking for new ideas! ( :
I usually eat a chicken breast for dinner. Relatively low calorie, high in protein, and you can dress it up with ANYTHING.

I also like pasta, so I make my own pasta primavera. 2 oz spaghetti with some frozen veggies, sauce, and cheese. 350/400 calories!

My favorite is the Mrs Dash garlic and lime. It is 35 cals per tablespon. The key is to use only one Tblespoon, water it down with lemon juice and brush it on with a silicon brush.

If I use teriyaki sauce I use Larrys which is also 35 cals per tblspoon, water it down with a little pinapple juice(a tad) and lower sodium soy sauce.

If you water the marinade down it goes alot further, same great flavor and not many cals.
broiled/grilled salmon, i put garlic on it & lmon pepper, or just pepper, cut it up into rice and add some peas, i like it.

:]
I had the best dinner the other night, a baked chicken breast seasoned with onion powder, garlic powder, and lemon herb, just by itself it was awsome!  Then I had a whole bunch of steamed broccoli (my fave) with 0 cal butter spray.  And with a big salad with italian dressing and hard  boiled eggs, reduced fat cheese, and turkey slices it was awsome and for less than 400 calories.
Well, I split it into two different "meals" since I don't really have meals but instead just eat small amounts several times through the day. But it would be brown rice cooked in low-sodium vegetable broth, with some herbs and spices added in, chopped vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, or something like that) and a slice of tofu.
i love making a stir-fry with non-stick spray (0cal), using mostly veggies like zucchini (i LOVE zucchini!), peppers, onions, garlic, greenbeans, and carrots. then some brown rice, and a little bit of tofu or chicken. flavor it with whatever spices you want (i like chili powder, then a little cilantro). its very low cal, if you use mostly veggies like i do, and yummy! also you can make a lot at once, then freeze it in 1.5ish cup servings.
under 300 calorie dinner tonight

3 oz grilled top sirloin seasoned with salt/pep and fresh lime juice

Light flatout flat bread

grilled green onions

salsa

1 cup steamed califlower for a side
A huge veggie stiry fry:

one zucchini
around on cup chopped cabbage
one green pepper
mushrooms

spray a frying pan with pam, add veggies, add salt, garlic salt, basil and some stevia/other sweetener if you like it a little sweet like I do.  The oils in the Pam and the liquid the veggies sweat off make it possible to use no oil or high sodium/calorie sauces whatsoever.

All around 80 calories.  Thats why I love veggies!  All that... or 1 apple, haha
I usually will eat a veggie burger and some sort of vegetable- broccoli, spinach, etc. on the side.. only about 300 cals for a huuuuge meal and really fast to make!
