What do you do when you eat too much early in the day?
Yuck. Normally I NEVER eat potato chips, but today I had a bunch and part of a chocolate cake along with two bowls of cereal. Normally i eat much better than this, but maybe its my period making have weird cravings.
Anyway, what do you typically do when you eat too much early in the day?
Salad- with vinegar and pepper. How close are you to limit? If I have around 250 I'll have a frozen meal and salad. I have 3 frozen meals in the freezer I only pull them in an emergency.
I eat protein and then LOTS of veggies to fill up!
I have definitely make that mistake occasionally , so I eat large bowls of shredded cabbage salad, cucumber spears, baby carrots, apples, lowfat pop corn, celery, etc. I try to put a lot of bulk and fiber in my later meals when I went a bit overboard early in the day.
I'm having this day as we speak and I am not ending it very well but tomorrow I will load up on salad and veggies.. Good Luck
usually if i eat too much i'm not too hungry later in the day but if i eat too many high calorie items and my appetite is larger than usual i will have 1/2 serving of grains with lunch and dinner and have veggies for the cals that would have been the other 1/2 of my grains. or i eat soup in addition to a smaller portion of my planned meals.
Don't starve yourself to make up for it. Make today a maintenance day. (A maintenance day cannot, by definition, hurt.) Then back to normal tomorrow. Don't intentionally undereat tomorrow because that'll just lead to pigging out the next day. Remember that eating extra calories of junk food doesn't make you need the nutritious food any less - so don't cut that out to try and "make up" for this morning.
It happens to everyone. It's not the end of the world. Just move past it. Tomorrow is a fresh new start.
Susiecue......you offered excellent advice for anyone occasionally "falling off" the diet wagon. Thank you!![]()
Sometimes if I've already hit my calorie limit I add the items that go over to the next day. The next day, I still eat 1,200 (+ the extra from the day before) but I make sure I put time into exercising a little more to burn off the extra calories. If I don't have time to exercise I simply eat 1,200 including the calories from the day before.
Susiecue offers great advice.
I wonder what your idea of too much is - my usual breakfast is always around 700 calories. I just get hungry in the morning, but so long as I honour my hunger and eat something decent I am less hungry in the evening.
I agree that a lean protein and plenty of veggies will provide a nice evening meal for you, but not leave you feeling hungry and wanting to snack after dinner. I also agree that you just move past it -- start fresh at the next meal. Theoretically, you should consume most of your calories during the day hours when you're most active anyway. You'll be fine.
