Do you eat foods you don't really like ?

Okay strange question I know. But I just opened an orange and it's okay but not up to par. It's a bit funny tasting like on the verge of being bad....a little to sour and not very sweet.

Produce can be so expensive this time of year. Part of me is saying it's not THAT bad go ahead and eat it and the other part is saying why waste calories on something your not going to enjoy to it's fullest.

Do you go ahead and eat it even if it's not quite right?

Edit: i'm not asking if I should eat it i'm just wondering what 'others' do

If a food does not taste right, I don't eat it.

I have had food poisining before and I don't want it again.

spoiled candy.......thanks for your post. I hear ya. If it were something else like that I probably wouldn't eat it.

I did eat the orange and one half was strange and the other fine lol...........never had that happen before.

Funny! I just ate a really weird tangerine tonight It was all dry and strange and not at all tasty but i was like well Im already eating it and its probably good for me!

Ha ha I also eat popcorn if people put it in front of me even though i dont like it very much at all, but its its there im gonna eat i :)

funny post!

You got a duff orange (picked too immature, low sugars, high acids, sitting in storage too long) ... You're fully entitled to take it back to the store you bought it from and ask for a replacement or a refund.  My short answer to your question.... no, don't eat food just for the sake of it.  If you're fussier about the quality of what you eat, you're much less likely to have a weight-problem.  "Pay more.. eat less"

When I was trying to lose weight I would eat salads without dressing even though I didn't like it.

Never again.

I dislike leafy greens such as kale, kohlrabi, mustard greens.  But I eat them because they are good for my digestion.  I don't like salmon, or liver.  I don't go there at all.

I had some popcorn last night (the 100 calorie smart pop bag) and my roomie made it for me and she burnt it. I opted out and had her make me another one. Normally I would eat it because I didn't want to waste it but i'm not going to do that this time lol. The new bag was moist and tasted good and I felt more satisfied.

Eating is about satisfying physical and mental needs. If you aren't eating what you really want to be eating, or if your food doesn't taste how you want or expect it to, you're more likely to end up trying to make up for that unmet mental need by eating more later.

I plan what I am going to eat nightly and then cook it... every so often I tweak what I am eating just a little bit and sometimes it just does not turn out as delicious as I would have wished... but I still eat it because I know it is healthy (first of all) but also because I hate wasting food and am typically starving by the time my meal is ready.
