How Much Should I Eat?

I'm 16, around 5'6-5'7, 120 pounds, and usually, on a school day, i'll eat around 2200 calories, and i go for an hour walk every day. But today i had a hour long soccer game, which i played about 40 minutes of, and i'm going to take my dog for a 45 minute walk soon. How much should i be eating just to maintain? I've already eaten 1200 calories and its only 3 40..so i'm really full.

This is a pretty good calculator to determine how much you should eat with added activity:

thats telling me to eat less than i do on normal days.

impossible to say.  calculators are just estimates.

Its just one day.  try to listen to your body and eat when you're hungry

The problem is, i usually end up eating when i'm not hungry.

Are you eating 2200 and losing? If you are, first of all - if a calculator tells you to then eat less than that don't listen to it! According to this calculator for teens, http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html - at 16, 5'7, 120 you'd need 1800 inactive; 2140 slightly active; 2460 moderately active and 3000 very active. I'd put you in the moderately active range. So, 2200 to 2500 would be about right for you to maintain unless you are losing on 2200. Then it's a whole different ballgame.

 Yeah.. those calculators are made for people 18 years and older, who need less food then us teenagers do.

Sorry, I'm no help. I'm in the same boat as you. I have no idea how much I should be eating too.
