If I was to eat 2000 calories in one day and CC says I burn 2000 does that mean for the day I didn't give my body the opportunity to lose weight.  Today I find myself to be extra hungry.  I didn't go over the 2000 mark yet but I feel by the end of the hour I will be.  I was just wondering if I didn't have a deficit today would it ruin my weight loss?

There's no reason it should ruin your weight loss.  At worst, you'll neither lose nor gain weight "today" (it actually takes a couple of days for today's food to show up on the scale).  At best, you'll kick start your metabolism a bit.  It's also entirely possible that your body is fighting off a cold or something like that so the reason you're so hungry is that you actually need more calories today.  If that's the case, you might lose anyway.

Long story short, one day of eating the same number of calories as you burn will not hurt anything.

well that is good to know.  I am not going to stress over it because I really needed it.  The fact that I didn't grab something healthy is another story but I have been good for a couple of days n I didn't go all out.  Tomorrow is another day and I can just continue.  Thanks for the response.

You need to eat 3500 calories more then you burn to gain 1 pound.  So, eating at maintenance will not only NOT ruin your diet, but is actually a good idea every so often to kick start your metabolism, like susiecue said.  Your body can get used to eating less calories every day and start to slow down to match, so bumping it up every once in awhile (I do it once a week) can help keep your metabolism guessing.

Plus, if you're extra hungry, your body may be telling you something.  Just because you're counting calories doesn't mean you should stop listening to your body.  Maybe you're not eating enough on your other days, or maybe you just had a more active day today.  Either way, go ahead and eat more - and do it guilt-free.  You'd have to eat 5500 calories today to gain 1 lbs of fat!

Thank you.  I ate it last night and I went to bed.  I didn't over do it I just had a snack of foods that weren't "diet"  regular animal cookies and teddy grahams.  I told myself that I will eat it and feel fine and not worry so much about it and I didn't.  This morning I woke up and its not bothering me at all not even to talk about it.  I believe that this will help me to know that I can have an occasional good snack and not worry about it.  Thanks to both of u for responding so quickly.  I appreciate it...

Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
