What to eat during the day?

I have an office job where I am not very active during the day. I may walk to the fax machine and back. I have started a workout program for myself but thats before and after work. So what do I eat during the day to keep me feeling good and light rather than bloated and lazy? Is snacking better than having a full lunch?

there is no right answer to your question, for some people snacking is better because they just get hungry often and having a large lunch won't tide them over until dinner. for others, grazing just leads to overeating so you have to see what works for you.

in terms of snacks to eat that won't weigh you down or leave you feeling lethargic...

nuts.

trail mix

hard boiled eggs

ww crackers

string cheese

yogurt

1/2 peanut butter sandwich

frosted mini wheat cereal with a bit of peanut butter, sounds weird but trust me

high fiber bar, like fiber one

uuum...baby  carrots, sugar snap peas, bananas, apples, oranges, celery sticks, pineapple chunks, any fruit...with a bit of low fat caramel dip, or veggies with low calorie ranch or other dressing

- Bell Pepper Strips

- Cherry Tomatoes

- Hard Boiled Eggs

- Blanched Asparagus with dijoin/olive oil mix

- Sliced Turkey or Chicken Breast

- Canned Tuna, Salmon, Mackerel, Sardines

- Plums or Berries

- Seaweed

- Flaxseed Crackers (although you have to make sure they are made without sugar or other oils... and you need to watch your intake because they're pretty caloric!)

 

How about strawberries Yummy, Low in carbs and loads of Vitamin C :)
