5'5, 188. Very active job. Lots of walking, lifting. I am shooting for 1400 to 1600 but have mostly been 1700 1800. So it sort of varies in that wide range. I eat a lot of little meals during the day which helps and am finding many good things that are low cal. One new discovery is fruit bars which are only 80 cals and really do curb a sweet urge. How about you?

5'4 and 140ish (give or take a pound, depending on the time of the month).  Early-to-mid thirties with a semi-active job (keeps me on my feet about 4 hours every day and sitting the other 4 hours).  I walk about an hour to hour-and-a-half most days and do strength training about three times a week.  I average about 2000 cals/day to lose half a pound a week on average.

im 5'1 17 years old and going to try to eat 1400

I'm in my early 20's, and while I've never lost weight (I'm just maintaining), I eat anywhere from 1,500 - 2,400 calories a day depending on how hungry I am. I don't exercise all that regularly. I think the less processed, diet-crap foods you eat and instead stick with "whole" foods like unprocessed veggies, fruits, whole grains and lean protein, you can eat a lot more. I'm 5'8" and weigh 120-125.

5'6" 130-133lbs depending. I eat a ton, lol, but I exercise like crazy (training for a marathon, plus i lift weights and swim for cross training). I stopped counting calories bc it was driving me crazy, but before I was consuming 2500-3000 calories a day. On long run days it's probably closer to 3500-4000 calories.

I've kind of plateaued the past month or two, so I haven't lost any more weight. But I lost 12-14lbs the past year by eating that much food!!! It worked for me!

1400 calories. (but this varies 1100 - 1700 )

exercise : running.

I am supposed to be eating 1300, but usually eat about 1500, so I'm maintaining rather than losing at the mo'.

I go to gym twice a week where I try to burn at least 300 calories at each session. I also walk a couple of times during the week, probably another two hours in total.

I'm 5'2", 115 pounds. I joined CC to lose 5 pounds and ended up putting on 3 which perplexes me and bums me out.

22 yrs old
5'2
139.5-141 average
in take 1400 approx.
Excercise 3-5 times a week.

I am trying to maintain my weight now. I normally eat around 1800 calories a day, and exercise 5-6 days a week. I am 5'9'' and 140 pounds.

6'1" 205 lbs 12 % BF.

I consume around 3500 to maintain.

I do 2 20 minute HIIT sessions a week and lift 3 or 4 times a week (rotate)

and I play hockey twice a week.

Well... I am not trying to lose weight or anything but on a daily basis I generally eat... (I'm totally estimating) anywhere from 1200 calories to 2200 calories... depending on my protein choices (my salmon portions are quite large... I'm talking 12 ounces which is like 700 calories! ha ha! Oh so delicious!)

Oh but don't think I don't work out - that's not true at all - working out is what starts out my day NO MATTER WHAT - speaking of: tomorrow I will be getting up @ 4:45 am! I know it will make me feel good AFTER wards!! - anyways, so for exercise I generally do anywhere from 90 to 120 minutes of straight cardio and then when I get back to my apartment or when I have a spare moment (when I am bored... waiting for dinner to cook...etc) I will pump out a couple of sets on my free weights sitting in my kitchen (good place to have them) and if I'm feeling really inspired I'll get my booty on the floor and crunch away...

Oh yea, and I am 5'2'' and I won't disclose my weight because people judge a little too much and in all honesty I believe that if you feel healthy, energetic, ready to take on the day and comfortable with yourself... your weight doesn't really matter (well unless you are extremely over weight).

age : 20
hight: 5'5
weight: 124lbs
calories a day : 1400
exercise : i try not too [lol]

Or you know it's lower than it should be for your age and height and won't make it obvious. i've seen your profile pics. you are very thin. this is a forum where advice is given and ideas exchanged. i personally do not judge but if I think your doing something that i know is unhealthy and know that a majority of people reading that same post would agree, then i'm going to tell you. 90-120 minutes of cardio daily is insane. granted your not trying to lose weight and eating to make up for it, but most people do not realize that excessive cardio is DAMAGING to the heart. the right amount will condition and make it stronger as well as drop pounds, but the amount your performing consistantly is unsafe.

You may feel great being young and working out the way you do now, but as you get older it will catch up to you. And you will wish you took it slower and treated your body better.

This isn't targeted towards you, but your weight does matter if you're too thin.

Oh come on. This is getting pretty old. You have been told about a thousand times on different threads that as an active teen you need to be eating more:

Probably about time you stopped posting these threads, yeah?

If you are stuck in a binge-restrict cycle, the best way to get out of that is to eat more consistently. As you've been told before. Aiming to eat 1400 is not somewhere in the middle, it's below what you need even for a weight loss diet.

ashley_marie714,

These types of polls are pointless as everyone is different and the adults on this website should just be following what the website Tools has recommended.

You are a teen and need to eat no less than 1500 calories a day for weight loss. End of story. We have told you many times.

ok. thanks (:
