How much do you eat?
I'm just curious here. For your analysis at the end of the day, what would you say is your average amount of grams that you eat? I usually range from 1000-1200 a day. This doesn't include water or ice. :)
heh. i eat 3000 cals a day and still cant gain weight... have fun
Well I just checked my analysis and I'm at 1,125 calories (I aim for 1200 or so, so I might have a small spinach salad later if I'm hungry) but I'm at 1700 grams! That seems like a lot to me! IDK
Oh and it doesn't include water or ice, either. :)

Eating 1300-1500 per day and actually losing more and MAINTAINING my previous loss better than when I was eating 1200.
Water and ice have no calories. Speaking from experience as a former ice addict, ice is sooooooo bad for your teeth.

Ice & water could make a difference because the OP was mentioning how many grams they had consumed, not just calories. The figures are interesting to compare side-by-side!
around 900 or less maybe
Most nutrition books I have read and experts that I have talked to tell me that I should focus on calories, not grams. I was also told that for most people, if your body does not get enough calories a day, it tends to start storing up most food consumed as fat automatically as if it is starving. The number of calories you need to eat per day is specific to you, but there are ways to figure it out. One is finding out your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and going from there. If you are really interested, let me know and I can give you some sources.
hmmm most of u guys are starving urself...the only time any1 should ever be on a 1200 cal diet is if their deadly obese and must loose weight to survive. anything under is just counter productive in so many ways. the lowest amount of cals i would ever reccemend to any1 to loose weight would be 1600.
My intake varies between 1200 - 2000, generally closer to 1800 on most days.
I was just wondering about calories too. I was eating around 1500 and lost a couple of pounds and stayed there. I usually lose a little better than that. I have went back to my noraml eating and am starting over now. More like 2000 so I have something to drop down to later. Does that sound reasonable?
I aim for 1,450 - 1,650 depending on how much (or little) exercise I have done. I have learned that my body pretty much stops wanting food (this happens most of the time, not all of the time) when it gets enough cals, but I will not stop being hungry unless I get to a certain point. I know this because I don't have the internet at home (too broke) and I log what I ate at night in the morning when I get to work and I'm consistantly between those two numbers.
Note: If I burn off more than 200 cals exercising then I make sure I eat those back.
EDIT: Didn't see that this was about grams at first. I usually range anywhere from 1,000 - 1,500.

I know this was originally about grams, but surely you have to go under 1600 calories to lose weight...because it tells me I only burn 1644 a day anyway! thats probably cos i'm short but still... I reckon theres a lot of hype that under 1200 stops you losing weight just so that people don't go crazy and get anorexic.
1800g 1600cals
Trying to gain...1500-2000g a day and 3000-4000 calories. I am just like biggerbetter except I am a teen girl!! My metabolism is crazy.

Not true at all. Check your facts. Some people are short and have low BMRs. I expend less than that so if I eat 1600 calories I GAIN WEIGHT. In fact, I live such a sedendary life (trying to change that) that if I eat the 300-500 deficit recommended I would be under 1200. Since that obviously isn't good I keep it to 1300-1500 and lose weight slowly but consistently.
Also, I didn't realize this was in grams. SORRY! Usually I eat between 1000-1800 grams but it's irrelevant as all of that is around 1300 calories, just depends on the foods.

recently started to bump my calories to 1100 a day to see if anythink will improve with weight lost if not then i might try 1200 next week
Thhe question should really be how many calories do you subtract from your daily expenditure.. but anyway
I eat 1600-1700 every day (expenditure is about 2300), no exceptions if I can help it. So far -21lbs in 4 months. I started out at 1500 for a few weeks, then switched up to 1900, but that was a bit slow, 1700-ish is the sweet spot for me.

What the freak is a gram? I thought it was a cracker.
