What do YOU eat in a day?
Hi everyone,
I am having some real difficulties loosing at a consisten rate. I try to eat 1200 calories but usually my carb level is over 50% (around 60%) What do you guys eat on a typical day to loose weight? What have you found to be a succesful meal plane to loose at a steady pace?
I eat cereal, turkey sandwiches, blueberry's, jello for a snack, chicken...looking at it I eat a lot of carbs.
I go from 1,200 to 1,600 in a typical day but am almost to my goal weight and then I will probably raise my calorie intake to maintain instead of lose.
I'm not sure how many carbs I have in a day (I'm thinking it's a lot) but I still lose about 1-2 pounds a week, so it doesnt really effect my weight loss.
I have lost over 20 pounds in 2 months and I was eating normal, just smaller portions and working out.
I eat tofu with splenda, green apple, milk, and toast in the morning. For lunch a veggie burgur. Dinner is noodles. Snacks are green apples, 100 calories packs, the Curves granola bar. I always guzzle water everytime i eat so I get that full feeling all day.
i eat fruit all day and then have fish or chicken for dinner. also i usually have a cup of coffee during the day and a glass of wine at night. i'm guessing i eat about 1200 calories a day. not sure what the trick is, but i think it's different for everyone. oh and i don't restrain myself, when i want to eat something bad, i go ahead and eat it. i just work out a little extra the next day or try to eat a less beforehand. i think planning is a key part of it, when i plan on eating something bad, i try to make room for it earlier by eating less or working out. good luck!
I think what you eat is just as important as how much you eat, especially if you are interested in being healthy rather than just losing weight.
My staples (in order of which I eat the most of) are:
fruit
veggies
wholemeal bread/grain
nuts, mushrooms, eggs & other non-meat protein
plain unsweetened yoghurt with live cultures
banana, dried fruit
Those are the MAIN things I look for when I go grocery shopping. Natural foods are key. I have lost 25 pounds so far (I'm 5'2" and went from 130 pounds to 105).
hi, my name is lydia and im fairly new to this group.
I like your question, only becuase i had been asking myself that question as well for quite a while.
Now i eat almost all vegitables and fruits. Every other day i add a small can of tuna with wheat break. I drink a to of water, even if i dont feel like it. I noticed that if i drank water on a consistant basis it really help flush my body out, making me feel more full but also feeling like i didn't have heavy food in my stomach. At first i started with a really really low calorie diet, which really isnt safe for a normal person, but i munch on anything healthy all through the day making it seem a little better.
I would just suggest starting with fresh foods. Of course you need everything on the food pyramid, but it was a good start for me to control what i ate instead of snacking on chocolates and soda all the time. Just cutting pepsi completely out of my diet i lost almost 10lbs. I was so surprised. Just work up to eating well rounded meals. Eat lots of fruits in the morning with maybe peanut butter and whole wheat toast. For lunch eat bell peppers with fat free ranch and tuna with miracle whip mixed in [yum] You know what i mean...at frist it was kinda hard to not snack on all the junk, but now that ive overcome it...i feel a huge difference in the 'type' of energie i am burning. Its not just pure sugar rush, it real healthy food that i am burning. I love it.
Good luck!
OMG you are soooo cute!
I'm 5' 2'' , 117lbs, I am starting to do a low calorie diet. Last summer I was down to 105 and I was SMOKIN' Hot. I don't even have to worry about my diet in summer... I eat what ever I want! I I think It is because we are so much more active and the heat suppresses our appetite. What do you do for a work-out plan?? - Syl
When I look at my daily averages, my carb intake is also around 60%. That's not really a bad things as far as I'm concerned... I still keep within the goal calorie range no matter what I take in. I'm becoming Addicted to orange slices dipped in apple sauce. Carrots are also fantastic, I love the crunch and sweetness of a raw carrot.
I have binge problems, and I'f I really really feel like I can't control the binge... I reach for oranges and carrots. LOL, I know if it happens too often, my skin will turn orange from the karotine.
