Should I eat if I am not hungry?
I am 5'3, 163 and 21 years old. I have been losing weight (14lbs so far!) with CC but now have a problem.
I am just not hungry like I use to be anymore. My current calorie goal is about 1300, but some days like today, I will have only eaten about 300-500 calories and I am still full.
So, do I eat until I get to 1300 or just not worry about it if I am not hungry?
1 day probably doesnt matter, just don't make a habit of it

What I eat varies but today I started my day with a Fiber One bar (140 Calories) then later this afternoon I ate a serving of chicken breast and some veggies(about 200 Calories) and I am about to munch on Multigrain tostidos and salsa (about 200 Calories).
I know a little bit of it has to do with the heat where I live...it is usually 97 plus degrees so feeling really full makes the heat that much worse.
well it is only 4:54PM here in alabama :P plenty of time for dinner left today....

Normally the answer is "no" but if you are full on 300-500 calories a day then it sounds like something is wrong. Try eating more calorie dense foods on days that you don't feel as hungry, because not eating will just bring you down in the long run..
this is probably not what you want to hear, but your body's metabolism could be slowing, especially if you're only eating 1300 calories a day. its really much better to be eating a steady flow of nutrients, so your body can function better. if you're only eating 300-500 calories and feeling full, something could be wrong with your health...maybe go get that checked out.
Let us clarify something first.... is this a non workout day????
I do have a slow metabolism. And on hot days, when I'm not working out, I am also not hungry. I have to force myself to eat!! I do have a day a week or so where I might get 1000 calories in a whole day. So I try to make those the best foods around!
Make sure that you are getting enough water on days when you feel like you can't eat. And make sure you are eating foods with fiber and good vitamins. Then even if you are calorie neglecting on these days, you're not being "unhealthy" about it. I don't think this is a health yet. If it continues and becomes more often though you will be forcing your body into starvation mode and your body will start to store the fat.... and this will make is so hard for you to lose it. If you damamge your metabolism too badly... its very hard to get it back!! I speak from experience! :)
if 300-500 calories makes you feel full, your metabolism has probably slowed to a glacial pace.
well, u cant base it on days. if ya binge one day, then ur body may not have time to burn those calories off, so ur not very hungry the next day. however, do not go without eating 4 over 36 hours. if its been 36 hours and ur still not hungry, eat something!!
I'm having a similar problem. I'm not hungry in the morning and so it messes up my daily schedule. I eat breakfast closer to noon, have late afternoon snack and then to get my calories up to 1200, I was eating dinner at 9:30pm! I wasn't even that hungry!
Right now, it's 8:30am and I'm not hungry for breakfast. I have to eat today, it's run day. How do you eat when you're not hungry?
I don't think it has anything to do with metabolism slowing down either. I just lost 4 pounds, I normally eat 1500+/day and I exercise a lot.
Your body is your wisest source so if you are not hungry do not eat. Having said that it seems like your metabolism may be really slow. Now all us trying to lose weight are forever trying to kick our metabolisms up a notch or two to burn fat off faster but the truth of it is, is that a slow metabolism is very healthy and bodes well for longevity. The only spanner in the works is that you do need nutrition and 3-500 calories is rather low but you need to listen to your body. So if you exercise more, your appetite should increase and your body will want to eat more. Just a brisk walk or something along those lines. If you do already exercise then I'm stumped!
You need to eat even if you are not hungry. A woman needs at least 1200 calories to have a healthy functional body. If you consume less than 1200, the body could go to starvation mode and store every calorie you eat. I always try to eat 4-5 small meals a day and this prevents me from eating a lot at any given time.
