should you eat after a late night binge?
so far today i have had an apple, a ton of water and a bowl of bran flakes with a banana and 1% milk. i don't want to eat today because i feel so yucky from last night i desperatly want to lose 10lbs but so hard to get rid of.
Help please:)
oh, i am 5,3 and at 130 well 135 as of this morning but how do you put on 5lbs over night?!?!?!
If you feel rough don't force yourself to eat but don't starve either. Try things like simple vegetable broths for a while... nourishing without being too heavy on the digestion. Bananas are good and drinking water makes sense too.
Try to get back into a regular eating pattern as soon as possible and make sure you're getting enough to eat and that it's nutritious. Undereating or a poor diet is what tends to lead to overeating.
Mpa-- do you only eat 300, or do you eat 300 fewer than normal?
Why eat less? Do some extra exercises. Even if you just do a few push-ups or lunges in your living room you're getting something more out of it. If you don't like to exercise; maybe you will begin to enjoy the challenges of fitness, or maybe you'll dread the extra work and not binge unless it's worth it.
i do exercise everyday for an hour and burn 700-800 calories. i love to exercise but i think b/c i had company and knew i wasn't eating til late i gave myself premission to binge. i do well when i eat early. today i finished dinner at 6:45. Eating with my son is the best!! not that he eats...all he eats is his veggies.
thanks again:)
I concur that it's impossible unless you ate around 18,000 calories that you put on 5 lbs overnight! Like the other commenter said, it is most likely fluid retention. I think it is important to understand why you binged...did you starve yourself the day before or did something happen? What precipitated the binge? Understanding that is the most important thing.
The reason why we binge is because we haven't eaten enough or we haven't gotten enough water through-out the day. It's our body's way of trying to survive. Try eating more healthy meals (pack in the veggies & fruit) frequently through out the day and 8 glasses of water. When you binge, it is because your body needs something. Emotional binging is different. If you haven't gotten enough fluid that day, you're body will do anything to get more water, even tell you that you are hungry. Not only should drinking water help with the binge late night eating, it will help you look younger for longer. You are born with a certain amount of water in your cells and through out life, you lose this water in your cell. You cannot replace it! Older people who are very wrinkly are usually dehydrated (smoking & substance abuse will make it even worse).
I also agree with the others, water retention varies. Try to weigh yourself less, perhaps once a week or twice a month.
