What to eat on non-lifting days?

Quote  |  Reply
Like many people, I'm trying to gain muscle with as little fat as possible.  I know pretty much what I should be eating on days that I'm working out, but it's my days off that I'm confused about.  Since I'm doing less activity, should I eat a lot less.  Or do I need to still eat more since I'm trying to put on mass overall and need to rebuild on days off?  Any help would be great...thanks!

You need to eat the same on days off as you would on days on, the muscle builds while your resting not while you are actually working out.
The program I am following *new rules of lifting* says to make sure you eat more on days you lift, especially making sure to get protein.  On days I don't I eat around 1700 (23 yo 5'4" 130lb female here), so days I do lift I eat close to 2000.
Thanks...anyone else want to weigh in?
i eat the same, sometimes more if i can on days off of the stuff i eat on workout days only i back my carbs down and increase my protein only a smidge. as long as you keep going hard in the gym and eat healthy you will be fine.
i do some lifting 2-3 days a week, and on the days i lift, i find im hungrier anyways, so i usually eat more, but its most likely more fiber and protein i crave anyways...
