What and how much to eat the day after lifting weights
I do strength training twice a week and wasn't sure exactly what I should be eating. I am working towards fitness and weight loss so I try to create a decent calorie deficit (500 cals) while also making sure I get enough protein.I also do cardio an additional 3 times a week.
I know your muscles recover the following days after lifting weights. Do you need to increase calories and/or protein on the day after lifting? How much protein for days you lift vs cardio only days, or should it stay stable? What about rest days with no cardio or weights, should you eat differently?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Do you need to increase calories and/or protein on the day after lifting? as long as your gettin 1 gram of protien per pound of lean mass its fine (This shouldnt fluctuate much ). On your rest days I would just decrease your calories to keep with the 500 calorie defficit
