Would you eat at McDonalds?
With all the bad publicity about Mickey D's going around (Super Size Me? Fast Food Nation?), would you eat there? What do you think of their new health movement? Include age and country/region.
All fast food restaraunts are unhealthy for the most part. That being said Micky D's does provide broiled chicken sandwiches, wraps, and an assortmant of salads... so I'm not down on them anymore than the rest of them. Do I eat there... not unless I have to but at least they provide food for the health consious. The fact they do provide healthier foods... is the same reason the rest of them are now as well. All fast food places are being forced to be healthier and at least post the nutritional facts on everything on their menu. Makes you think twice before you bite into that double quarter pounder with cheese. 37/m/northern cali
Sure. I wouldn't eat there frequently, but if the company I was with decided to go I would also go.

Sure I'd eat there, particularly if I really wanted some french fries. A cheeseburger Happy Meal with fries really wouldn't set me back all that much calorie wise, and it's only a once in a while thing. Actually, I can't remember the last time I visited McDs.
I don't know about the salads - the one time I got one, the lettuce was wilted, the tomatoes anemic, and hardly any cheese. Maybe some MDs are better than others with keeping their stuff fresh. I'm all for the healthy options thing (my kids do prefer the apple slices to fries), but for me, when I go to McDs, I want the fries.

The fries do rock... best fries in the world! You're also right about the salads... I didn't say they were good... I said they offered them! ![]()
I go about once a month for their ice cream cones. Much better than DQ's.

I enjoy the occasional McDonalds. Usually a chipotle grilled chicken wrap and small fries with a Diet Coke. All for only 490 calories. Just a wee bit over my normal lunch calories. I believe you have to find a way to work reality into your life. Sometimes, McDonalds is the only option. It's best to know before you go what can/should/will order. 37/f/South Texas
no.
not because of supersize me, but because that place grosses me out.
maybe i'll eat their french fries every once and a while.
i actually LOVE their southwest salad with grilled chicken. it's probably in my top 10 favorite things to eat, no joke.

I too absolutely love their southwest salad with grilled chicken and light italian dressing!
I hardly go out to eat, but if I do go there I usually get their grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo and a fruit and yogurt parfait. :)

I LOVE McDonald's! I probably wouldn't be on this site if I didn't love it :( I usually get a McChicken-360 cals and small fries-250 or a cheeseburger-300. yum craving it now
I actually ate at mcd's about 10 times in my whole life....and I am 42.....only went cause some friends went there, so my answer would be no, but that has nothing to do with the negative publicity, I don't eat at any fast food thing, I just don't like it.......
I don't go anymore, simply because if I do I'll start trying to justify it every day. That, and it gives me some errm... digestive issues. I'm sure a cheeseburger once in a while wouldn't hurt.
Also, my cheeseburger quota is filled by my other true loves: Five Guys and White Castle.
Absolutely not. The last time I ate there, I hadn't had any fast food for years, and it hit me hard-- I missed class the next day I was so sick. Those piddling little burgers aren't worth the trouble.
I might have a drink from the soda fountain though.
nope dont eat there. actually cant remember the last time i did or any fast food restaurant. actually maybe burger king when we drove back & forth in california/nevada about 4 years ago. but going to them can get to be a habit. even when i was a teenager i rarely went there unless friends made me.
the mc d's in ireland are a bit different then in the states. if he's in town my husband would go there just to use their bathroom, its one of the cleanest on grafton street. they have table service too, flat screen tv monitors, very flashy. and they use irish beef which is supposed to be some of the best beef. i wouldn't know i dont eat beef. but ireland is supposed to have the 'real' happy cows (not cali), they like the weather here, well them & the ducks. i sure dont.
I am a proud Mcdonalds worker!!! lol, I don't eat the food really, I bring my own for break. If you know how to order, it is not so horrible. Once in awhile its not bad. I stopped eating the fries, once u have one, its hard to stop.
My weaknesses are the cookies and other desserts, especially cinnamelts.
I go there basically everytime I'm at work (Walmart, so we've got one in the store), but the only thing I get there is a coffee or green tea.
I used to eat their muffin's all the time before I started counting calories/caring for nutrition, now the only time I'll touch one is if I'm drunk and have the munchies xD... Although recently I was craving an Oreo McFlurry, but everytime I'd try to get one the machine would be broken/being cleaned/Or the place was closed.
19 years young and from Ontario, Canada.
I never ate there on a regular basis but when I use to go would have maybe chicken mc nuggets and small coke or the kiddie cheese burger meal.
Now the only thing I would eat there would be the fruit and yogurt parfait (small size) without the granola. I would eat the chicken breast salad with no cheese and light italian or use my own dressing on it.
I wouldn't eat anything else from there. I don't even do diet cola anymore. I would rather have iced tea or water then cola anyways.
Oh i'm 45, U.S.A, Southern, California
I used to eat there...it was my one stop shop if I was hungover...nothing like a fillet of fish to calm the tummy! However I stopped going there after reading Fast Food Nation (i'm soo suggestible!!) as I disagreed with a lot of their practices. Once a friend bought me a burger from there (after I quit going) and I thought "what the harm...it's already been paid for!" and like dazzleships was quite unwell afterwards...made me wonder what exactly they do put in there?!! Haven't gone near the stuff since which is not a problem where I live now because there isn't a McDs within 50 miles!!
