Eat Meter Daily Goal

Quote  |  Reply

Hi

I'm a noob here, so this question is directed to the more cc savvy of the bunch.  My Eat Meter Daily Goal says 1750 cals.  For the days since I started I have maintained a calorie intake of about 12-1400 cals.  The reason I don't eat more isn't really that I am holding back, but more because I don't feel like eating more.

In your opinion, will this slow down my weightloss process?

More on my self and my "method".
My breakfast is usually a 200-250 cal combo of cereal and dairy.
I take one snack app. 100 cal before lunch (banana or a low fat no sugar dairy)
Lunch is usually a salad, egg, cottage cheese combo, somtimes lean meat for about 300-400 cals
In the afternoon i snack twice on fruit (appr. 100 cals each)
Dinner around 6 o'clock, lean meat, veggies (alot) and rice/pasta/potatoes combo for about 3-500 cals

My stats are
h: 183 cm
sw: 98.1 kg
cw: 96.5 kg
age: 33

I cut out all sweets and fatty fast foods (except on cheat days which I decide on beforehand)
I cut out coffee at work (used to drink around 5-6 cups w/ whole milk)
I cut out all kinds of chips and unhealthy snack

All comments and criticisms appreciated.

Hi,

Before i go on i feel i am in the same sort of boat as you.... but i'm a man trying this!! I also feel that my caloire advise is a bit steep at over 2000 a day!! I am 186 pounds (13.5 stone) and i want to loose 20 pounds (1 stone) I am only slightly over weight but would like to loose the belly i have started to get at 27! To much beer!!

I am eating roughly the same as you are per day!!

How much are you trying to loose? And how much do you weight now?

DOH!! Sorry mate! Embarassed

Wrong to assume i geuss!! I think you'll be ok doing what your doing. Although my fav is Poached eggs in the morning on some wholmeal bread! Very good apparantly for loosing weight because it promotes muscle growth which burns the fat!!

What do you snack on and how long have you been trying this for?

This is my first week and i'm hungry al the time which sucks!

bragi, what else are you doing?  What is your exercise routine if any?  At your current ht. and wt. you are burning close to 2400 cal per day, without doing anything.  According to the CC burn meter.  If you are really eating only 12-1400 cal per day you are too low and your body will not like you.

Is your diet plan new?  I would recommend keeping a complete log for at least a week and plugging everything into the calorie count tool.  See what your real caloric intake is and make adjustments from there.  A healthy sustainable calorie deficit should really only be about 300 to 500 calories per day.

cheers

You should probably increase your caloric intake (especially you, Logan, since you're hungry all the time!).  I don't know offhand what the minimum is for men, but for women it is 1200 - and women have a lower need for calories than men.  The reason for this is that men are built with more muscle than women and muscle causes you to burn more calories.

Keep in mind that eating too few calories is as harmful as eating too many.  If you consistently eat too few you both lower your MBR and you force your body into starvation mode - thereby increasing the amount of fat your body is trying to store.  Try increasing your calories and adding in calorie cycling.  If CC is saying you need 1750 a day, try having 1750 one day, 1600 the next, and 1850 the day after that.  This tricks your body because it doesn't know what to expect, thereby increasing your metabolism and causing you to lose weight faster.

Good luck!
