this is just so stupid why is it hard to lose weight
somebody said eat less and you will lose the fat and i did for some time
i lost 15 kg but i still have the last 5 kg and it is do not want to go away and it is coming back !!!!!!!!!!!!! i get 0.8 kg back yay welcome ( not really T-T)
am eating 1200 cal daily and my activity level is Sedentary and the burn meter said i am burning 1650 cal in my normal days ( is this device accurate ? )
so i thought it was all right , but then i read that you should eat more to burn more , since am burning 1650 i decided to eat 1400 cal on the weekend since i do not do much ( sad i know ) and in the work days i will eat 1500 cal since i am more active in those days ( not by much )
so what do you think ? should i do this or should i just keeps my 1200 cal
does anybody have/had this problem ? how did you overcome it ?
An interesting idea that I see popping up lately is that members will put in their goal weight stats and consume the calories to maintain their goal weight.
This also seems to be a good way to make sure that you will maintain your goal weight as you will already be eating the way that you plan on eating when you are finally at goal weight.
I'd suggest that if you're not sedentary then you reset your CC activity level to something more realistic and see what happens then. People who are active use up more energy when they're sat doing nothing than people who really do sit doing nothing 24/7 (sedentary)
What you should find is that your burn meter number goes to something more realistic.... typically an adult woman (over 21) needs 2000 cals and if you're still overweight or particularly energetic it'll be higher still.
Sounds like it would end up at 1400-1500 and, if you're smart with your food choices, that gives you plenty of scope.
thx guys
candy that a great idea but am wondering if it's too late for me , to do that since i have been 1200 cal since i started my new for life diet
gi-jane
I am sedentary hell if there is less than sedentray i will choose it
am a student i wake up go to school by car , get to school , walk about 12 steps to class , lessons for 3 hours with me sitting on the chair , lesson end 12 steps to the cafeteria sitting again , class again , go to home by car , lunch , sleeping for 4 or 5 hours wake up laying next my laptop ( i put my laptop on my bed next to me my mother call it my baby ) studying also sitting , laptop again , sleeping , then go to school wow it is a new day
see i am worse than sedentary , i would not call myself overweight but i need those last 5 kg ( 10 ponds ) to go , right now even a 0,5kg makes me afraid of going back to 75 kg ( now am 60,8 kg i reached 59,5 kg but as i said am getting all kg back and i do not know why ) also am not craving anything with 1200 cal and i do not get hungry or tired at all , in fact i feel i have more energy than before
so that why am afraid of eating more cals ? would i get the rest of kg back ?
If you really want to lose another 5lbs or whatever then stop being so bone-idle.... Really, there's no excuse for someone school-age to be that inactive. If you don't get yourself some regular activity you'll constantly find it difficult to be a healthy weight unless you eat next to nothing..... You don't feel hungry because you've killed your appetite - not good. Worse than that, you're looking long-term at the serious prospect of Type II diabetes, heart-disease and lots of other nasty medical problems associated with total inactivity. Being a 'healthy weight' doesn't make you 'healthy' if you sit on your backside 24/7. You say you're not 'tired at all' but you have a 4-5 hour afternoon nap.... that's really not normal in the slightest.
If you're school-age.... (teenager?) you're seriously undereating if you're on 1200 a day. 1500 is the bare minimum for even the most inert teen.
Get a bicycle and go to school and back on that perhaps. There's a reason 'sloth' is one of the seven deadly sins.....
They say to lose weight you need to move more and/or eat less....but you also need to remember that your body will start storing calories as fat if it thinks you are starving it....something I have a hard time with. My husband has to keep reminding me that is is okay to have a snack so that my body doesn't think it is in famine.
I am NOT talking about cookies, fast-food, etc. I mean healthy, small snacks...my favorites include 1 slice of whole-grain bread with 1 tbsp. of peanut butter or an small apple. It does seem like 1200 calories may be too low for you and your body may be storing instead of burning.
Also, there are easy ways to get more excerise without really trying or feeling like it's exercise. I, for one, could not bike to work/school...but I can park further away so I walk more on my way to the building. Is there a different route you can take to the cafeteria...one that might require more steps??
I also find that it helps to walk while I work....if you are writing a paper, get a clipboard with a few sheets of paper and walk around while you jot down notes. Walk around while you talk on the phone, avoid elevators (if you can) and choose the stairs. Even this little bit of movement will help.
If anyone else has easy ways to add movement to a daily routine....please share. I am always looking for other things I can do to move more.
A very simple answer is to get a cheap pedometer, attach it to your waistband in the morning and then aim to get up to 10,000 steps before you go to bed. It's quite difficult to just 'potter' your way to 10,000 steps so you find yourself adding in a few extra walks here and there and staying on your feet rather than sitting down just to get the numbers to click around. I know someone that walks up and down their staircase at home when the ad-breaks are on TV! Do it for a few weeks and you quickly develop a more active routine.
