Should I eat more today?

I've eaten all fruits and vegetables today, and even though I feel full, it says I've only eaten about 530 calories - crap. I was going to have some pineapple for dessert, but I thought I should have more to bump up my calories.

So will I gain weight if I eat, for example, a 500 cal dessert after eating so healthy today? What do you all reccommend - should I eat more carbs or fat since it's getting later in the night? Apologies, I'm not quite sure how this works yet! Thanks in advance to any help you all offer, it's muchly appreciated :)

Sigh. There is obviously no convincing you, but I, and I'm sure many others, stand by the fact that fruit is good for you, fruit never made anyone fat, and you can lose a hell of a lot of fat while eating lots of fruit.
ketosis is a stage in metabolism. how  can it be bad for you 
Uncleben, I'm sorry, but I really don't think that we need to be getting that crazy about it.

Everyone should think about what they're putting into their bodies, but for God's sake it doesn't have to be as complicated as you're making it. As long as she generally has a good balance of carbs, proteins and fats overall and she's taking in enough calories to sustain her and less than she's burning, she will lose weight.

actually, most doctors will tell you to cut out fruit almost entirely while trying to lose body fat.
you most definitely can get fat off of fruit.
Haha! If I went to a doctor and he told me to stop eating fruit, I would stop seeing that doctor.

im not getting crazy . a lot of people wonder why theyre not losing weight when theyre seemingly eating well and excercizing. if you dont know what foods hinder fat loss how can you ever succeed in losing fat
The only way a person could get "fat off fruit" is if they:

1. Only ate fruit.
2. Ate so much of it they went beyond their maintenance calorie limit.
exactly. this girl is saying all she ate today was fruit and vegetables. TOO MUCH SUUGAR to be burning any fat.
But if she still eats less calories than her maintenance level, she'll be fine.
no, because sugar raises blood glucose levels + insulin levels which makes it impossible for the body to effectively burn fat.
Ketosis doesn't work long-term for weight loss.

And if your doctor is telling you to cut out fruit, then I highly suggest you get a new doctor, because he/she is an idiot.

The only people who benefit from cutting out fruit are diabetics and bodybuilders.

Diabetics, because fruit does raise insulin levels, but normal, healthy people can HANDLE this.

Bodybuilders, because they need to look cut and trim short-term, and cutting out fruit and other carbs leads to less water weight in the body and puts the body in ketosis, which adds to even LESS water weight in the body. Right after a tournament, they go right back to eating fruit and carbs..and immediately their weight goes soaring high, due to their body leaving ketosis.

I only know this because I personally know a diabetic (my father) and a retired bodybuilder (a friend).

Everyone, just ignore uncleben, and maybe she'll stop.

I guess all the millions of people who incorporate more fruit and vegetables into their diets and lose weight are actually just magicians who have the special power to somehow negate the undeniable awesomeness of glucose and insulin to make it absolutely impossible to burn any body fat.

I guess the 27lbs of fat that I lost while eating cheesecake, chocolate and cookies EVERY DAY over the past 2.5 months are all a figment of my imagination as well.

well im taking kineseology and we learnt all about this. so i do know what im talking about
high insulin levels = harder to lose fat, not a hard concept to grasp
True ilisa. I've got much better things to do, now that I think about it. I hope muttlover gets some more fats and proteins and maybe a little more carbs to make sure it's all rounded out. And make sure you're eating enough calories every day!
