Should I eat more today?

Quote  |  Reply
So I've lost two pounds (whoot!) but I"m worried that they came off a little too fast (I'm 5'4" and 147)- 4 days. I"ve been right at my minimum (1431) for the last several days and I'm thinking of upping my intake today (only today) just to mix it up a little- prevent a stall, keep from feeling deprived and (therefore) binging, etc. I'll still be below my expenditure, just not as much.

Is this a bad idea?

Cycling your calorie intake is never a bad idea.  While you might still hit a plateau later on (there is no perfect cure for getting over those other than patience and determination), keeping your body guessing along the way is fine.

Don't get so stuck on the numbers.  Calories are not 100% exact.  I always suggest to aim for a range of calories and not a specific number.  Hit in the range and you are fine.

I typically set my range at 500-750 under my maintenance level, never going under my 1500 (I'm a man).
