How do you eat nuts in a salad?

Quote  |  Reply

Are you supposed to crush them and scatter them, or keep them whole and just eat one once in a while while you're digging into your salad?

Depends on the nut and my mood.

almonds are nearly impossible to fork if they're whole, so I go with sliced or slivers.

Walnuts fork okay and/or stick to the salad better, so I leave them whole.

I don't really put any other nut in my salads.

i think slices or slivers are best for almonds.

walnuts broken into large chunks are great. and i think whole pistachios are perfect.

I toast a variety depending on the salad and our preference that night. My hubby prefers pine nuts, I like toasted almonds sliced or slivered and walnuts best on my salad though I think everyone has a favorite.

Experiment and find one that suits your taste the best but try toasting them in a dry pan and see how much more flavor they add to asalad...just remember to remove them from the pan to cool a few minutes before adding to your salad Wink
