when you eat pizza ....
I know that just about everyone loves pizza now and then... when you have pizza what do you like... is there a certian place you get it from or do you make your own...? What do you put on a pizza...?
My favorite is Papa Murphy's Herb Chicken Mediterranean Delite... Yum - o and as far as I can tell pretty healthy for pizza that is...
I LOVE mushroom pizza. When I make my own gluten free/vegan pizza I get my own crust and I don't make use much cheese. I just cover the top with a BUNCH of veggies. Pepper/mushroom/onion pizza is the best.
The only pizza that's worth blowing a ton of my calories for, is made by this place called Star Pizza near my house. They do this Chicago-style pizza with a whole wheat, deep dish crust, tons of delicious cheese, and sausage and mushrooms and onions and peppers... *wipes drool off keyboard*
But now I only eat a slice and I'm stuffed, whereas before if anyone else wanted some they had to get their own pizza! Lol! :-)
I like Papa Murphy's too! I always get the hawaiian de-lite pizza and a side salad. Sooo good!
on days i deem "guilt free" (meaning im not gunna feel bad if i enjoy unhealthy food) I love to make foccacia and make it into a pizza... the bread has olive oil applied liberally and a good amount of cheese and sausage n mushrooms.... mmm drool... when im eating good i make them with flatbread (i try to find them under 150kC each) go light on the cheese and heavey one the veggies and ground turkey.... mmm...
i actually eat pizza fairly often...it's all just about eating a small amount each time.
my favorite thing to put on a pizza is green peppers and pineapple. so if i'm ordering delivery that's what i get. as for frozen pizza, i'll eat either the kashi mediterranean or
amy's low sodium spinach pizza. both of those fit in my daily calories with no problem at all.
i absolutely love pizza..mm. but i don't get it out much, i usually make my own pita pizza. just a pita pocket, sauce, and a little cheese (i dont like a ton of cheese). ends up being under 300 cals!
My downfall isn't so much the pizza. It's the ranch dressing I have to dip it in. Ranch is to pizza as ketchup is to fries. ;)

I prefer Round Table pizza over all else. But if I'm going to be a bit healthier and eat in, Amy's makes a really good frozen Pizza that is decent, calorie-wise. I think there're 900 cals in the whole pizza... whereas I could easily eat 900 cals in 3 slices of one take-out pizza.

Oh yes I agree with the ranch... yummmmmmmmm... I usually justify my ranch consumption by having a side salad ... ![]()
Locally made Brooklyn Pizza, the Flatbush Feast (sausage, garlic, mushrooms, bell pepper and pepperoni). I don't eat it often because it's a chore to go down there. But it's comforting to just know that Tony is there, making those pizzas.
I used to eat a whole calzone for lunch when I worked in that neighborhood. He's the reason I gained 30 pounds the first year I was married.
I don't care where it's from. As long as it has green olives, mushrooms and red onions. And dipping sauce x2.
I love pizza. That is why I have gained weight, boo!
We have a local pizza place that has the BEST food. I always get the BBQ Hawaiian.....Ham, pineapple, red onions and its made with BBQ sauce instead of marinara. They also have a homemade ranch sauce...I'm drooling just thinking about it!
I make my own.
Start with an ethic flat bread, like Indian or Mediterranean. Then add lots of sauce, red pepper flakes, fresh or dried oregano, sea salt, and roasted garlic (dried). Then top with shredded Parmesan cheese very light, then a dash of olive oil, a finish with fresh basil. I cook mine in a toaster oven, since the breads already cooked. Good Luck!
My favorite pizza place is literally 20 seconds away. Rocco makes the best original Italian thin crust pizza. He is Italian after all. I try all sorts of things.
I ONLY eat pizza from Mr. Gatti's. It's one of the only places that I know of around me that is slightly lower in calories and fat. I will get/have two slices of:
Canadian Bacon/Cheese/Peppers/Onions or Black bean.
I truly truly miss my Pizza Hut Hand Tossed with double pepperoni and bacon. I don't think I've had it, or any pizza for that matter in months and months.
Ray's Original in New York City makes some pretty serious pizza. I have been craving a slice all week haha ![]()
I love veggie pizza, but plain cheese is good too. I only like to get it from Pizza Hut or Papa John's. Dominoes is ok too, but none of those little pizzera places. Their pizza is WAY too greasy, and the crust is always tough.
I am in love with with Buddy's in Detroit and Giodarno's (sp?), and Gino's East in Chicago, but my mom and I like to make our own. My favorite is the thin crust we make with spinach, red pepper, and mushrooms.
