What do you eat when you have a sweet tooth?

Struggling with my sweet tooth. What do you guys eat when you crave something sweet that isn't full of calories and fat?

I usually eat a tsp of straight raw sugar. It is intensely sweet. My taste buds kinda max out on the sweet. It satisfies my craving and stops me from eating any other sweet things. Smile

Strangely enough I eat meat. A nice piece of grilled chicken curbs my craving. I can't tell you why.

rice cake = 40-60 calories each

sugar free pudding cups = 60 calories per cup

frozen yogurt = about 100 calories in 1/2 cup serving

any of the desserts in the Hungry Girl 200 under 200 cookbook!  Tons of recipes under 200 calories per serving and absolutely delish! :)

Frozen grapes have been doing the trick for me lately.

i eat something sweet :) maybe a mini piece of chocolate. some ice cream. or cinnamon sugar popcorn.

Frozen grapes, sugar-free pudding cups, no-sugar-added Fudgsicles, a banana, a slice of angel food cake (no frosting), or watermelon are my choices.

My sweet cravings seem to vary in terms of what will satisfy...often a piece of fruit will do it for me. But when I need a little more, I do a small yogurt or Fiber One or Kashi bar (I keep an assortment on hand to cover all cravings - some w/ choc  chops, some with apple, etc.)  A piece of old fashioned kid pink bubble gum. Once in a great while, Ill do half a serving of junk cereal, like Fruit Loops, for 50 cals as a snack (not in replacement of my daily high fiber/protein Kashi cereals)

When I am desperate for something sweet I usually have a pot of full fat, cream top organic yogurt. Brown Cow and Stonyfield Farm are two brands that have wonderful cream on top yogurt. Both companies yogurt cups are under 200 calories.

For me, I would rather have a little bit of something that is decadent than have a low-fat/sugar-free/ 100 cal. pack type of treat that will never satisfy my craving completely.

Usually I just have a small portion of whatever I'm craving (or a large portion if it is fruit).

If that doesn't work or isn't an option, I like to drink Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice herbal tea. It is quite sweet thanks to the cinnamon, is all natural, and has zero calories.

If you crunch up a graham cracker on top of that 100 calorie Yoplait Delight Lemon Torte yogurt, it tastes just like lemon meringue pie. Just sayin.

100 Calorie packs work well.

Special K also came out with a protein shake that is pretty sweet and packed with lots of protein to keep your hunger satisfied. They are pretty thick kind of like a milkshake but not quite. I drink those when I feel a sweet craving and they keep me satisfied so I eat less throughout the entire day.

the most important thing with dealing with it is portion control

you can measure out any dessert to be 100-150 calories

i like jello

frozen yogurt

cheesecake

candy bars

all in 100cal servings

baked apples with a touch of brown sugar, sugar free or fat free chocolate pudding, dark chocolate (I splurge on the good stuff 'cause then a I can savor it and it seems to be more satisfying...feels decadent).

I go for the good stuff - keeping portion control in mind.

A square of good dark chocolate (60% cocoa or more) with half a dozen raw almonds and a half ounce of good cheese.  (a local creamy goat cheese is a current favorite).

Froot Loops dry cereal works for me.  118 calories for 1 cup.
