What did you eat today?

Quote  |  Reply

I know there are probably a million of these topics out there but I needed to start one for myself and anyone else who wants to post is welcome to.  Also, if you have any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm 5'6 - currently 136 lbs and my goal is 126 lbs.

Today:

B: Banana, granola bar (150)

S: V8 shot (40)

L: Big salad (mush, tomatoes, green, red, yellow peppers, romaine lettuce, and cucumber) Balsamic Vinegrette Dressing (~250)

D: Rice & Fish cakes (~500)

S: Popcorn (160)

Only around 1100 cals, I'll need to fit in another 200 cal snack in the afternoon.

Thank you, boston.

I wasn't trying to "dog" anyone, but rather trying to promote the healthy guidelines that this site stands for.  The difference between me and the posters I'm referring to is that they pubically post the fact that they're not eating enough, which is triggering to some people.  I don't like to be harrassed about my eating habits, but I eat enough, and even if I didn't, I wouldn't be displaying it for everyone to see, as if it's something to be proud of.  That's why on the other, identical thread to this, there is a specific guideline not to post if you're not eating enough.  It should be on this one too.  In fact I don't know why this thread even exists.  And it really was unnecessary to jump down my throat.

Gosh, so many of you aren't eating enough.  It may seem great to eat 1200 calories and exercise off 500, but your body will rebel soon.  You'll feel too tired to go on with your daily routine, and you'll stop losing weight.  Trust me, I've been there.

I'm going to quote you in a post YOU made on Aug 2008:

"I also despise it when anyone watches me eat or comments on my food/eating.  This is left over from a job I had where I didn't get a break and I had to eat on the job, and there was always some douche leaning over the counter and saying, "Did ya save some for me?" or "Ooh, eating lunch on the job, are we?"  So now I despise it.  Yesterday I was eating a healthy chicken salad at a restaurant and studying.  This random guy came up and said, "Whoa now, slow down, slow down!" thinking he was being funny.  I almost killed him. by ratinhat88"

My calorie intake and my activity intake is NOT for you to judge (because alas you do not like being "commented/judged" on either.

Also remember what you post in the past before you dog others for how they eat and exercise, just not very kind of you. :o)

I don't think she was trying to attack anyone, or "dog" anyone, as you say.. This seems a little over dramatic for such a small opionion that wasn't directed towards you or anyone in particular.

Anyway, today I had soy milk, an apple, and a luna sunrise bar for breakfast. Two sandwiches and a baggie of celery/carrot sticks for lunch, and a salad for dinner. Had some cereal and fruit later on. Then some more cereal. And then some sugary instant oatmeal..  =(

Both Ratinhat88 and Boston93: We  can agree to disagree on the account of her dogging others. Its how you behave/write online and it was not becoming of her post, meaning her post did not come off kind or helpful.  I understand the needed calories to intake along with exercise and it comes down to the right balance for the person.  Don't read post and post comments that are judgemental if you don't want to be judged yourself.

Personally, I have NEVER been able to eat a 2000 calorie meal, EVER.   I've been around 93-103 my WHOLE life except for this last year due to medication causing the weight gain. That's none of any ones business on here and before she commented she should have thought maybe there are other underlying issues at hand instead of jumping the gun and dogging others on how they eat and exercise and not being able to lose weight.  She never quoted me, but I'm the one that burned 500 something calories today. My calorie intake was waaaaaaaay less then it is now.  Pretty darn proud of eating more healtier and doing exercise that I have hardly ever done in my life :o)

Agree to disagree and move on with working out and losing weight :o)

Good Day,

J

Ok, I'm sorry to have offended you, jlapj. (meant sincerely.)  I know my original post didn't sound very kind or helpful, but I really didn't mean it to be rude.  I guess tone of voice just doesn't come across very well online.  You're right that we all have no idea of underlying issues that others may have.  God knows I have my own.  It just bothers me, especially as someone dealing with recovery from an eating disorder, to see low calorie figures.  I guess it makes alarm bells go off in my head.  But I'm sorry to have overstepped the line.

Wow - look what my forum has turned into?!

I had a bad night...here is what I ate:

Roast with potatoes/carrots/turnip

Pringles

Sour Candy

Pizza Pocket

Cereal Bar

Can you believe that?? So gross, I feel very icky this morning...my eating habits are so horrible right now.

Today:

L: Soup with roll

S: Fruit cup

D: Going to the golf course for dinner with the in-laws....I'll try and eat light

Hey Jenn, I'm looking at your pringles thinking "man, I wish I had some chips!". For that very reason, I haven't bought them for almost a month. If they're in the house, I'll eat every last one until they're gone!

Yesterday I did alright but ended up over goal by about 150 due to a slice of pizza. I still have leftovers, so I'm going to stick it in the oven so I'm not looking at it all day!

breakfast- cereal, flax seed, milk- 285, a piece of [pizza crust my son wouldn't eat-25

snack- apple- 74

lunch- bowl of soup- 150, open faced sandwich- 90, apple- 74

snack- apple (I know, but they're gala and so crunchy and yummy!)- 74, some almonds- 100

supper- bowl of soup- 150, granola bar- 140, pudding- 90

For an evening snack, I might have another apple and pudding, taking me to 1301 for the day.

Breakfast:
Sugarfree maple oatmeal with 2 egg whites mixed in, cup of 1% milk. Coffee with creamer and sweet n low
Lunch:
Progresso French Onion Soup, slice of double protein bread, gala apple. Diet Dr. Pepper

Dinner:
I get out of class late tonight so it will be : Tuna salad made with tuna, light mayo, relish, diced tomatoes, and lettuce.

Dessert:
Fiber One Cereal with 1% milk :) yum

Snacks:
slice of cake this morning (damn), and later will be a South Beach bar before college and gym.

In a weird way, I feel bad that I don't have them on hand as a treat for my kids, but I know that they're waaay better off for it!

What do you do in the evenings? Or maybe the better question is what could you do in the evenings to occupy your time (and hands!) so that you're not thinking of snacking?  What if you and hubby start a project, play cards...learn to crochet...... haha

The busier I am, the less I think of food/eating. It's when I slow down and do nothing that the snacking out of boredom begins.

Oh, one more thing I meant to mention about the sat. weigh in- it's not a really great day for me either, but the thread is made on Fridays, so that's when I weigh in...works so much better for me.

Oopsie...I read this post last night and it gave me the green light to overeat, including a whooping 180 calorie cookie!! I'll never eat one of those suckers again! (as my husband sits here laughing, knowing that I'll have another one before the sun goes down...)  I ended the day at roughly 1700 calories! The good news is that I'm only up 0.2 on the scale this morning.

  • breakfast- cereal, flax seed, 1% milk- 285
  • snack- apple, almonds- 200
  • lunch- soup- 150
  • snack- apple, granola bar- 214
  • supper- I'm out of soup, so probably turkey, mixed veg, sauce- 205

That takes me to 1054 for the day. Hubby and I are maybe going to have a date tonight. If that's the case, all bets are off and I'll end up eating more...but I don't mind that!

Have a great weekend all!

LUNCH: I ate about 14 ounces of ground grass-fed bison @ around 12:15pm

DINNER: I ate broiled zucchini, onions & a portabello mushroom with green beans & spinach & topped that all of with Broiled Steel Head Trout - MMMM... I want more! ha ha!

Oh! My mouth is watering!! After you read what I had today, you'll know why;

  • breakfast- 1 1/4C Special K Satisfaction, 1 Tbsp flax seed, 1/2 C 1% milk- 285
  • snack- apple- 74
  • lunch- open faced chicken sandwich- 85, granola bar- 140, apple- 74
  • supper- 1/2 C rice- 160, turkey- 100, carrot and celery- 35, 2 Tbsp sauce- 20

This takes me to 973 for the day, that leaves me with 300 calories to have a pretty good snack this evening (and when I say good, I don't mean healthy!)

so then eat more and you wont have to be jealous

I don't think I'm jealous, I just had a pretty bland eating day. There's not much exciting on my menu- especially on days when I work!

ok, but why only under 1300 cals?  you deff dont seem to have a weight problem and could probably maintain on a lot lot more, thats all.

lunch: one burrito (250), one cup of skim milk (90)
