Then my bf comes browsing through... and says "Oh no hun, you need to change this... you are putting it down as too light."
What's everyone's take on this? I am lifting heavy for a girl, and I do break a good sweat in there, but in no means am I "body building" but there is vigerous effort. So which should I use???
Malynda, light or moderate is comparable to housework like vacuuming. I suspect you work harder than that. Vigorous weight lifting for you.

Depends on a day. Usually anywhere from 2-3h 30m. Different intesities/terrain. For example tomorrow I'll be doing 3h 30m with bunch of hills.

Umney,
Bicycling is tough work! I do a 60 min spin class 2x per week and it kills! I cannot imagine doing the actual cycling... it's so much different! Do you ever take spin classes and if so how do you find them different from outdoor training?
-Mel
It's different. Outdoor you are going your own pace. Which can be a good or a bad thing. It's easy to slack off. :) On a trainer you get a more consistent workout, since there are no lights and whatenot, but damn is it boring. :)

UMNEY-lol, im confused, you bike outdoors, rt? so a training ride is when you have diff sorts of terrains? are you in a warm climate or you just layer up? its freezing here!
Yep I bike outdoors. I am in SoCal (Southern California), sunny weather but maniacal drivers. So it evens everything out. :) It gets a bit cold in early morning(10-15F), and when it's raining so in those cases I just put extra layers and off I go. Still compared to when I was in NorCal (Northern California) it's not that bad. Every ride is a training ride, unless I am going with friends for a burger or something. :) The goals of the rides vary. So one day I might do two-three hours steady pace on flat(ish) terrain. Other days I might do high intensity intervals on flat(ish) terrain, so period between intervals will be at lower intensity. Then there are days like today where basically it's three and a half hours of doing as many hills as I can, while trying to push myself on the hills.
JEEEEEZ!!! so i dont even know how to ride a bike, yes, i admit it and therefore my biking was in the form of spin classes, when i used to take them. i cant even imagine where id be able to ride like that, hills, diff terrains around here plus, how do you find 3hrs of time a day to ride? i just started my 1st job and i hope ill get used to it but by the time i get home i am so beat.
good for you
