I eat well, exercise, and no weight loss...grr...

I had a baby about 14 months ago and lost about 20 pounds starting 3 months after my daughter was born which brought me 10 pounds less than what I was when I got pregnant.  I unfortunately lost the weight on Nutrisystem, which even though it worked, has left me unable to lose any more since I stopped.  I eat around 1600 calories a day of high fiber, low fat food, I run 5 days a week at 5.8 - 6.0 mph between 3-6 miles and resistance train 3 days a week.  I burn no less than 500 calories a day.  I currently weight 157.2 and have a goal weight of 140.  I am 5'4".

Anyone have any suggestions?

You sound really healthy! One of the things that got me past my plateau of 140 was a fast/cleanse. And I don't mean a starving yourself fast/cleanse. I mean done the right way. With homemade juice and protein shakes. I just did a two day cleanse and feel great! I don't know if that would be something you would even be interested in but it worked for me.  Or even one week of strictly fruits and vegetables did it for my b/f. Other than that the only other suggestion is maybe dropping the calorie intake to 1400 but with as much as you exercise I'm not sure that would be safe.  If you want any advice on a cleanse or how we do ours in my home I'm here for the asking. Good luck!

im curious about the whole cleansing thing? what exactly is it and what do you eat/ drink?

Well, this one that I just did was the first one for me. I have seen family members do them. Some even up to 21 days. Which after this two dayer I don't know how they did it. For about five days before I started, I tried to drop my calorie intake as much as I could without going below the 1200. So my body didnt go into shock. I ate mostly fruits and vegetables and eliminated meat altogether. I have soy whey protein for vegans so I don't have to worry so much about the nutrients. So, basically for the two days it went something like this:

Protein shake/juice (which was apples, lemon, and ginger)

and all i did was alternate that every two hours. The main thing is drinking enough water. I tried to aim for a gallon per day. Cleaning your system out. I do it with an in home sauna but you don't have to have one of those. You can take extremely hot baths to make yourself sweat. That's the important thing is the sweating. The other thing is making your bowels move. And I know people don't like to talk about these things but I made sure they moved once per day with apple cider enema.

That's about it! I felt great. Never had one hunger pain believe it or not. You just miss food. Chewing preparing...that sort of thing. And it was hard for me because I still had a household to maintain. Had to make dinner for the family and take care of an all over the place toddler. If I had a more calmed environment I think I could have done the three days I had originally set out to do, if not a week. One of the good things is it will make you lose weight, BUT you have to be careful to not go right back to eating the way you used to. You'll gain the weight right back because your metabolism has slowed down. If your in a plateau though it may just be what you need. You have to gradually introduce foods back into your diet. For the next week its just fruits and veggies (with my protein shake) and then eggs, rice....etc. One new food a week for the next month. I had been stuck so long at 140. It's so nice to see the 130's on the scale. :)
