My husband likes to eat out during the evening alot. I try to stick with my weight watcher meals or diet food. Sometimes I give in and go out to eat with him, any ideas how to prevent the urge to eat the fast food.

eat a little something before you go out, try to eat the weight watcher meal and drink plenty of water, so when you go out with him, you can order something less/low calorie on that meal. For instance, when I go out with my hubby, I eat a light meal and not to make him feel bad I will order a broiled chicken sandwich and cut it in half and save the other half or he will just have it himself. I usually will order a salad most of the time, but when I have the craving for a sandwich I ask without mayo and if they can substitute it with wheat or rye bread.
Don't think about going out or dieting as mutually exclusive. If you do, it will be hard to stay motivated. Going out should be a regular part of your diet because it is a part of your life. You need to figure out how you will work around it.
For instance, you could try to find places to go that are healthy. Or, when you go out, you can still go out with your diet in mind. Pick items from the menu that are health concious. Just because you are going doesn't mean you give up on your goal.
I don't limit myself from eating out, but when I do I chose carefully from the menu. You have to keep your goals in mind, and almost all places have healthy selections that are very good. If I'm at an italian place and everyone is having pasta, I may opt for some lean chicken or something, it is still good, and good for me. If you make smart decisions, you won't need to worry about going out. In fact, not going will probably only depress you and lead to a failure in the diet.
If going out is a major part of your lifestyle, you need to plan your diet around that, through selection of places to go and what meals you order.

Nikkisandlie... this hits home. I love going out to eat but not fast foods... but itīs still a challenge to find something suitable on the menu. I usally ask for two glasses of water and take a sip or two between each bite and I order chicken with a salad... they serve that almost anywhere. Good luck!
90% OF the time, when we eat out, I eat off my husbands plate. The other 10% of the time, I have 1/2 of my meal and put the rest in a doggie bag.
Now I don't necessarily make the best food choices, but I have learned to eat less.

My husband likes to eat all the time. He's 115 lbs and I'm 204 lbs. Put your foot down and tell him he needs to help you. If he wants to go out ask if you can choice where to go. Then call ahead and ask for what you want and how you want it. It helps!
Hello Nikki - I am wondering why does he like to eat out so much? He obviously knows that you are trying to loose weight and the eating out thing is not helping you. Is it possable that you could try to change his ways? I mean if you two go out 6 days out of 7 for meals, could you go out for 4 days out of 7. Just think of the money you will save. And having home cooked meals can be fun especially if he is there cooking it with you. You will then be able to show him what you can eat and show him that your meals need not be boring. At the end of the week you may be surprised just how much that little piggy bank is getting fat. Tell hubby that for every day you dont go out for meals and stay at home, you place that amount of money away into a savings account for a special romantic trip away with him.
