Eating Disorders info & articles - Binge eating, Anorexia, Bulemia...

Quote  |  Reply
Edit ~ this discussion idea started with an article or 2 focused on teen patterns ~ what the heck i wish my parents knew back then... but thought i'd start a place where we can have links and help & discussions on the psychology of eating disorders, questions & strategies...

Knowledge is Power!  Please share, feel free to link to it in other discussions here at c-c,

please feel free to add... I look forward to reading the information you post too!

I am still learning about all this stuff...  it is a real journey trying to figure out what i do and why and now that i'm beginning to understand that... i need to figure out how to get better...  that i'm working on & i look forward to sharing that journey here ~ with you ~ 1 day ~ 1 choice at a time.

I know that this year has been a year of discovery for me ~ simply to realize that I started developing binge eating patterns as early as the 3rd grade, food was severely restricted and I yo-yo'd with my mumsie.  The binge eating got worse when i had my own $$$ and could buy my own food... triggering years of a downward spiral of poor eating patterns, bingeing and health problems...

What scares me is the feeling that my eating is out of control... that I'm standing on a thin edge or reality that could easily crumble... that if I go one way, my binge eating will be forever out of control... Go the other way and I could just as easily start starving myself and become bulemic or anorexic...

None of it is good...  But... we can get better.  I am working on that.

I so wish that I had found help when I first started trying to deal with this in 1983...

Here we are 20 years later and I'm just now finding the 2 best things to happen to me in a very long time...

U ~ this community here at calorie-count ~ people who are going thru the same thing and who are willing to share the journey ~ let's chat & share...  No one can do this for you.  You have to do the work and the work is hard, but we can share the journey, {{{hugs}}} & support ~ here ~ together ~ 1 day, 1 meal ~ 1 choice at a time!

2nd ~ an internet full of information & help!!!  Let's share articles & information :)

Knowlege is power!  Awareness is power.

Recognizing we have a problem ~ that is where we start.

Wanting to change... reaching out ~ sharing the journey ~ here ~ together ~ 1 day, 1 meal, 1 choice at a time!

1 more thing... None of this is meant to be medical advice...

If you are out of control and you can not get yourself in control with the information and friends you find online, then please reach out in the real world ~ there are friends & family who love you ~ medical professionals who have experience and who care and who want to help you.

All you have to do is ask... reach out & grab some help!  Live life!  U R worth fixing!!!

I have been suffering from Ana for 2 years now, naturally I became so ill my family sent me into a rehab clinic for medical help.

I do not recommend people becoming anorexic or even considering it. I gained more weight back than I lost. I am 5'11'' and used to weigh 105 lbs... now I weigh 180 lbs...

I do warn those out there from participating in crash diets, it does mess you metabolism up and your body does not accept food so nicely, it just stores it as fat. Honestly your better off eating and going for a relaxing walk for an hour.
Yoga can help.

This is about Yoga as a philosophy, way of living - not the "excercise program" most people associate with it.
