I joined a gym about 2 weeks ago because running outside just isn't reliable as I live in a very weather-unstable region. Anyway, I work out for an hour every day. I start with a half hour of cardio (a 10- minute mile followed by 20 minutes of walking at 4.1 mph at an incline of 11%) and 30 minutes of circuit weights and abs. I don't target any muscle group per day, i just work evcerything a little.
My question is, shouldn't I be seeing at least a little fat loss by now? Honestly I just feel like I'm getting bigger! i'm F, 21, 5'4", 115. I'd love to lose about 5 lbs (CC says i'll still be a healthy weight, and I've been there before). Is 1200 calories per day too few to lose any weight? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I don't think it is too few based on what you are saying you need about 1900 a day to maintain, so you cut 700 and would lose 1.4 lbs a week. Are you sure you are counting your calories correctly? Checking portions and stuff?
Yes I'm sure I'm counting correctly.
losing 5 pounds are going to put you at your minimum healthy weight. You're body probably doesn't want to lose them, hence it being difficult. Also, if you're doing weights, you may already be at a low body fat %, meaning you don't have much to lose.
If you've recently started doind weights, your muscles will hold some water after workouts, they may swell also, which can make you feel 'big'
