Hi guys,
Going for a meal with some girlfriends to the restaurant ASK tonight (UK), just wondered if anyone new either what would be a low-ish (i'm saving up calories today so I will have a few to play with this evening) calorie choice, or knows where I could access nutritional information for their menu, so I can make a healthy choice in advance?
I'm sure to have some kind of salad, but I just don't want to spend ages figuring out which one would be the most calorie wise tonight, and asking the waiter irratating dressing related questions - I am not that kind of customer!!! Haha.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Love love love xxxx
Reason: Moved from Calorie Count to Foods
Alrighty... I pulled up the menu on the web so here are some options I would chose from that are low calorie & sound delicious:
- Gamberi Al Forno: sounds really good expect for the whole cheese salad & bread part... if you can, ask for the shrimp & such to be placed atop a bed of spinach with NO dressing!
- Filletto Di Salmone All'Insalata: now this is a salad I like but since it comes with avocado - ask for NO dressing! And make sure it does not come with croutons or cheese which are FAT & CALORIE BOMBS!
*Honestly, those are the only two things that I see on the menu that can be easily altered to make sure it is not overloaded with calories! That eggplant dish sounds awesome but then it says it is topped with beschemel sauce & cheese which is a BIG NO NO! If you can get it without those two things, you are golden!
I realise this is late, but there's advice in it that can carry over.
ASK is a lovely restaurant. The minestrone is good, and you can ask for no croutons if you wish. Really, though, I'd go with whatever tickles your fancy while being sensible: avoid creamy sauces, request dressing on the side and no croutons, get two starters instead of one big main if you wish, ask to see the kids menu or leave a small portion of your meal/ask for some leftovers to be boxed, and if you want dessert share or get a semi-skimmed cappucinno. To be honest, though - perhaps allow yourself a bit of a cheat day and just have a nice time with your friends? Their sorbet looks a good choice on the desserts. Mostly, just enjoy yourself.
